I've had my nose pierced for about over a year now and ive had dry flaky skin around the nose where it's peirced ever since. I use moisturizer on it but it never seems to do much..it's still very dry and flaky..doesnt look good if you look at it close. Does anyone else have a problem like this, or a solution to my problem besides saying to moisturize it?

i had it with one of my lip piercings for a while, but it went away by itself.

i also had it with my eyebrow piercing, but i just took that out and it went away so.

i guess it's just because since there s blob of metal there, you can't exfoliate it as well?

so, try exfoliating it carefullllylyylyly.

you could try vit. e oil on it. i had that same problem with mine, and the flakness went away when i use vit e oil on it.

but in the end it got infected and i had to take it out (i still want it back though).

lol, i had my nose pierced and then it got infected and i took it out, and then i got it repierced like 2 months later and its been fine ever since. second time is a charm! but thanks for the advice, ill try that!

i have quite the list of products i need to buy! its growing larger, i better start writing this stuff down.

My piercer said that emu oil is perfect to use around piercings. I haven't tried it yet but she swears by it. jojoba would probably be good too if you can't find emu oil, she can't keep it in stock.

nice! i was wanting to try emu and jojoba oil anyways. now i have a good reason to.

I have the same problem. I thought it might be caused by the soap I bought to clean it with.

i doubt it, because ive used many different things since i got it done and none of them have got rid of the dryness. i think its just the piercing itself, i duno. im gonna try the oils though and tell everyone how it went.

lucky. but its not really that big of a problem. atleast its not infected like it used to be.

Is it possible that you're slightly allergic to the material the nose ring is made out of? I think some people even have sensitivities to the surgical grade steel they use, and a different metal might help.

it worked! no more flakes. yay. i also used coconut oil on my entire face thoughso that could have helped too.
