My friend has turned to me for advice regarding his skin care.  Unfortunately I know very little about men skin care.  He has some darkness under his eyes and wants to know of any recommendable products out there suited for men (or women once it would work) that he should use.  I know he has tried the very reputable Lab Series for men but that has done nothing for him.  He has combo skin and we live in the Caribbean, so nothing to do with dry skin or cold weather or anything of the sort.  He does not have acne or acne scars and does not wear makeup (just thought I'd put that in..lol).  He also does not have sensitive skin.

Any information at all I can get?  Any suggestions?  Comments?

My husband had extremely dark circles under his eyes!  So I bought him the Garnier Nutrisse eye roller and its worked like a charm for him.  That's my hubby's HG of skin care

Dark circles are so hard to treat, barely anything will make them look better

Maybe he can use one of those rollers that are moisturizing treatment and light concealer/highlighter in one?

As far as I know there are only 2 main differences between skincare for men & women. Most men shave big parts of their faces regularly, so they need products that won´t irritate those areas. Then there´s the possibility of getting ingrown hairs, a chemical exfoliant can take care of that. The other thing is that most men have oilier & tougher (maybe apart from the areas that they shave) skin than women, so they can tolerate chemical exfoliants well and only need light moisturizers with a matte finish

So I think he can very well use products that are meant for women, he just needs to find the right products with the right ingredients for his needs. I think that a lot of skincare products for women have flowery smells, so maybe he would prefer how men´s skincare products smell.

I work as a cosmetician in a drug store, and many men have told me that they love that Garnier eye roller, the one with caffeine without the concealer.

Vichy also carries a great men's skin care line, which the men in my life have tested and love the after shave balm, but also the Hydra Mag stick for under the eyes. I believe its best for tiredness and bags over dark circles, but its a favourite for men in the age range 30-45 feeling a slight loss of firmness and puffiness upon waking. It does revitalize the eyes well, and it feels comforting.

I would suggest the eye roller though, or any formula with caffeine. I heard some good things about almond paste under the eyes as well....perhaps that is a housewife myth though?
