Ok. This line (supposedly used by Angelina Jolie and tons of other celebrities..which skin care line isn't?) just came out in my local Dept. Store.

I went over to take a sample of the serum and face cream....and this Saleslady comes over and starts giving me THE LOOK and asking if I need anything in German. I tell her (also in German) no thank you,..pi** off (just kidding) no, I don't... I say I'm just looking today. I walk around all day, and the places I put this stuff on feel amazing..my skin feels like silk. I'm basking in the love of this stuff....get home, go on the net..only to find......

This stuff costs like $233.00 AN OUNCE!!!

I really, really, like it! it made my skin feel great for like 3 days afterward..but it has to be the most flippin expensive stuff.

Has anybody tried this product? It's from Sweden.

I know I'm Nuts for lemming this stuff...anybody else heard of it?

I wrote them an e-mail asking them for samples..

so, I'm curious as to what the reply will be.

This stuff feels really, really, good!!

Holy crap! That is really expensive!!! I haven't tried it, but I have a feeling I won't be any time soon!

I have heard of but it is just too much money. At those prices I want to beautiful forever. I would really like to know what makes these cremes so expensive.

It's that expensive, I've seen it in the big department store here, but I didn't pay much attention to it, I'll go and try it, now that you got me curious...

Okay, no, that's not expensive at all! Not to Angelina Jolie, or celebrities of the like! $233 per ounce?! Sheesh! Better be made of gold, or at least have plenty in it! LMAO!

I recently got and email from Bergdorf Goodman introducing this skincare line. The prices looked similar to La Prairie, Natura Bisse, Sisley Paris, Guerlain, and .... but I didn't pay attention to that line. I have used many of the expensive lines and they weren't worth it at all. Thank goodness some of them were samples because they add up and become a down payment on a car.... You can have similar and even better results with cheaper brands. BUT... now you go tell me this is really good!!! I will have to try it in the future when they have some kind of promotion. Which one did you use? a serum, night cream?

I used both the the serum I on the base (first) and then the Kura Intensive cream or whatever over it. I didn't even know what I was doing, and the saleslady a.k.a. security guard for this stuff was busy helping people who were actually obviously going to buy something. LOL. I took the opportunity to just dip my fingers into this stuff (not afraid of germs) and Go For It. I had no idea it was this expen$$ive..so I was kinda liberal in my application.

.

According to the website, it supposedly contains crushed minerals like silver and even pearls. I'm not usually impressed by ingredients...blah blah...but this stuff just felt really good and far, far, better than most of the high-end stuff I have also sampled and never bought because : 1. The yearly cost could feed a couple of families in Ghana or Applachia 2. Like everybody says, it's good, but you get comparable results for far less lettuce.

BTW, I have not to date heard back from Sjal reagrding my e-mail request for samples. They are prob. still laughing too hard. But I'll keep you guys updated if I hear from them....so, has anybody (even going to the Dept. Store Counter)..tried this stuff besides me?

I hope they send you some samples soon. We just move to California and moved into a house on base. I spent more than I planned decorating it. I wouldn't mind getting samples but I can't afford to buy the regular sizes...

i don't think there's any ingredient in the world that would justify a price tag like this. it's insane. not as insane as creme da la mer's $2000 an ounce price but still pretty crazy. i even visted shjagll or whatever their name is web site to see what's soooo special about their skincare. and guess what - they dont even list the ingredients. like its some big secret. And why the f@%$ would anybody need crushed pearls or whatever on their face? i'm sure there isn't any bit of research showing it be beneficial for the skin. whats really good for the skin is antioxidants, antiirritants and good sun blockers. and you can get that for like $10 at the drugstore.

so i think - save your money.

Update from Sjal:

They just E-mailed me that they would be delighted to send me some samples and info regarding their products, and asked for my mailing address.

Bwa-ha-ha.

. I'll let you guys know when the stuff gets here., and after I try it.

I'm kinda already feeling a little guilty. How am I going to explain that I can't see spending that moolah on it?
scared.gif
I'm such a dork, I shouldn't a done it in the first place unless I had the moxy/class to either buy the s**t, or not; and not try to wh**re samples.

That was nice of them to reply and they are going to send samples. I can't wait to read what you'll think of them after the samples.

Sept. 11th. And still no beautiful sweet little prezzie of a package fro Själ!!

Argggg!!! I thought it would be here by now!!

I mean, of course I can understand that mailing out freebie samples is not their top priority..still..I hope I haven't been...forgotten...

I just got my samples today and I asked for the samples right after you.... I am sure you'll get yours this week. The samples (3 of them) are very very very small.... The first one will last me 2 days if I am lucky, second one 3 days tops, and the last one probably 3-4 days....
kopfkratz.gif
How the heck am I suppose to see a difference with that little amount... Stingy people!!

Whoa! Cool! So , the news is I should not give up! Thank Ya, Thank Ya! There is hope after all!!!Y'know for some reason, I either heard or read somehwere that their samples are, in fact, in the end, scandalously small. Sh********t on a handbasket!!!
add_schacko.gif

Ok, the good news is....form my experience pilfering from the dept. store sample jars..is..it realy, really, only takes a small amount to feel a difference. I know other brands claim this, but with Sjal it really seems to be true, at least for me....the bad news is that..well, yeah, I think you/me is /are going to want more. This stuff is like flippin' herion. And they know that. *Sigh*
nud.gif
. Please, please let me know what you think, and if you come to the same conclusion I came to, which is, that,it is good stuff uh, I just cannot afford it.

Thanks again for giving me hope, girlfriend!

I now just have to be a little patient...

LOOOL you're quite the comedian!

The price tag is indeed exorbitant, but if it made my skin feel THAT good like NO other products/brands, then i'd buy it...just cuz i'm really crazy

What's your skin type? Just wondering if this stuff is suitable for oily, acne-prone skin.

Can't wait to read your updates!

I don't know!!? What do you think, Nullifer? I have combination/dry skin and and I am 41 years old. To be perfectly honest, this product struck me as sort of ER for skin, certainly over the age of 35, for a couple of reasons: the cream is thick, I'm not sure a twenty-year old would wear it. 2. The price tag itself is certainly targets itself to women over 30 (I'm not sure what I mean by that, so please nobody get offended, ok?) 3. Even after having said that, it is Because of the price tag and the overall really good feel of this that I'm not sure if it would cause the acne to flair up. In my opinion, if you make a cream, sell it for that high a price, well, you better darn well make sure it doesn't break people out, know what I mean? I'm also not so sure how great this stuff is for your skin ona long term basis. My suggestion: get some samples and see for yourself. I did not break out after I put it on my skin, but because everybody's skin is so different..and like I said, before the age of about 39, I would never have used this stuff on my skin, so I think Angelina's just wearing it because maybe she got paid or something. The serum 1 kind of reminds me of Estee Lauder's Idealist Skin Refinisher, only a little better.

So, it depends on a lot of factors!

I think it would be cool for us all to get samples, try it, and then report back to each other the different results!!!!

Hi Elisabeth
wavey.gif
It is Nilufer. I know it is different and not easy to remember so it is okay, you can use lilla or Nilu if you can't remember.
smile.gif
I agree with you, I don't think it is a skincare line for young ladies (no offense). I think someone with wrinkles or aging lines should invest in a skincare line like this if they can afford. I am 37 years old I was told that if you don't have wrinkle don't use products that are made for wrinkles because when you have wrinkles those products won't be useful because your skin will be used to them. I haven't used the samples yet because I want to talk to the person who sent them to me first. She put her business card with them in the envelope and I want to ask her how much to use and when to use. I am glad you said just a little bit to use other wise I would finish these in a day or so... I am going to take pics of the 3 products she sent so you can see how they are. I'll post them sometime today after my daughter goes to school.
smile.gif

Here are the pics: I put a Guerlain l/s and a Nickel to give you an idea how big the samples she sent (
laughing.gif
don't ask why because they were the only things on my desk to compare....). The little bottle with greenish serum is close to half way full but not half way. The little jar that is closed is completely full that's why I didn't open it. The little open jar is not even half way full.... but if we use less than a pea size morning and night it will go a day and a morning.. That feels like the littlest one... But when I talk to someone today or tomorrow I'll find out how much to use. I still think they were very stingy about the samples....
