I can never shave my bikini area. I will shave it and the next day it is itchy and hurts and has razor bumps. I have to wait months for all the hair to grow back before I can shave again. I am also getting razor bumps all over my legs nows, which I normally don't have.I was just wondering if there was any way to prevent or get rid of razor bumps and ingrown hairs????

Use a brand new blade every time you shave. The best place to shave is in the bathtub. Soak for about 10 minutes in a warm/hot bath, lather up the areas and then shave (the heat of the water makes the hair softer, which shaves easier). Use an astringent on your legs when you are done (I love Witch Hazel). For your bikini area, use Tend Skin or Bikini Zone when you're done shaving. It helps stop irritation and makes it smooooooooth.

Hope that helps!

I always use a shave cream and let it sit for a few minutes after I have already soaked in the tub so all the hair is nice and soft. I never get bumps.

I am prone to ingrowns - I use PFB (some sort of astringent roll-on) after shaving- that works well. It's cheaper to use witch hazel. Definitely use a sharp blade and also - shaving cream that is made for sensitive skin helps. I like any shaving cream for men - Gillette is good- because those gels tend to have ingredients to moisturize the face.

I have "tucks" witch hazel pads from when I had my baby - they do wonders in soothing if you happen to get razor burn or ingrown hairs!

Another trick - keep up with shaving it, don't wait until it's all grown back out, eventually your skin gets used to it!

Yikes- I definitely let it get a little "wild" down there- this may be TMI but I feel like unless I know it's going to get some action or Im wearing a bikini or something - I kind of see no sense in taking care of it.

I never go against the grain on the hair on my upper thigh bikini area. That is when I run in to trouble and get ingrown hairs.

I use a men's electric razor with a beard trimmer attachment. I found that I definitely experience less razor burn than when using a disposable razor. I also apply deoderant to the area after shaving. I think the talc in it prevents razor burn/ingrown hairs. I read about the deoderant tip in Cosmo, I think. The article said it was a technique that a lot of strippers use!!!

I have been using a dry shaver called Body Bare referred to me from an exotic dancer I used to wait on, I paid about $60 for it two years ago on Ebay and I will never go back to waxing, shaving or Nair, never ever again! I'm also very prone to ingrown hairs myself and this product works! I finish with a gel deoderant and somehow it keeps the ingrown hairs away. Check it out, the seller I got it from has an unconditional guarantee and has sent sent me two replacement trimmers without any questions or shipping expense.

i've been using the deoderant trick (put it on after shaving, when you dry yourself) and it works soooooooo well! no ingrowns, no burns.

I have exactly the same thing and of what I've tried anything helped, so I live with that terribble thing and a new blade makes things worst! I don't know what to do!

wash the area really well before u shave.

or try a different method- like waxing
