what razors & shaving cream/lotion do you use to shave your legs?

I have super dry, sensitive skin and lately razor burn is unavoidable. I try so hard to be careful but I always end up cutting myself really bad. My mom said I need to use something especially for sensitive skin.

i use vanos rezor and gillette stain care shave gel its with alovera &vitamine e

and it make the legs so smoth

u can do a search and get tons of result ... for some reason im haveing problem pasting the links

I use Skintimate... They have both a Dry Skin and a Sensitive Skin formula, as well as one w/ Baby Oil... All of their shaving gels are good... I have super dry skin too, and I use a daily moisturizer designed for after tanning which helps a lot too since it's really thick and full of moisturizing agents... I also use a men's razor (Gillette Sensor 3)... No problems for me! You should try the Soothing Care Anti-Chafing Powder-Gel (from the makers of Monistat) we've been discussing as a foundation primer... It's meant for razor burn and bumps along the bikini line, so I'm sure it'd work well on legs too! Heck, we're using it on our faces *lol* Have you tried using witch hazel after shaving? I hear that's good to use too...

I use the cheapest razor one can find, and it's the disposible ones, and I use them atleast 5times before I even change to a newer one. But I've learned a trick from my skin therapist, that not to use shaving foam, but to use hair condistioner on the legs while shaving, making slide more easily. It's also a cheaper way that to buy special shaving foam...

i use the intuition (the one that the soap and razor are combined)--i have really sensitive skin and i've never gotten razor burn (or even cut) since using it (about 8 months now)

I too used to use hair conditioner....works great and CHEAP.

The other thing is, what are you putting on your legs after your shower? Any scented moisturizers/lotions are a NO NO with sensitive skin, especially right after shaving. Most scented lotions have alcohol in them...this will irritate your skin if your sensitive, right after you shave. The ONLY lotion I can use after I shower and not get bumps or red or rashy, is one from Melalueca called Renew.....it's so great for sensitive skin and really seems to have a healing affect to it. I'm my MUST have!

If you do use a shaving cream, I agree with the others, grab one for sensitive skin w/aloe in it. Aveeno also has a great one for very sensitive skin...but it's about twice the cost of Skintamites and others.

I suggest using a men's razor. They are better quality (yes, they cost more) and are gentler than women's razors. I use a Gillette Mach 3. I also use Skintimate shave gel. You should also use a fragrance-free lotion after you shave, such as Curel, Keri, Lubriderm, Aveeno, Nivea, or Eucerin.

I use the Venus razor--3 blades and my Dove body wash. Dove products are soap free, soap is very drying.

I would also consider a light body exfoliator before you shave, pref. an oil-based one. The oil will sink into your skin before you put on your shavegel (I love skintimate) and the single blade cheapies because they're wicked sharp so I only have to use a light stroke.

Actually, I have been scented lotions after I take a shower ... mostly my Stila Creme Bouquet lotions and I have a few from BBW. Can anyone recommend any good fragrance-free lotions?

Thanks for all the suggestions ... I'll definitely look into all these recommendations.

I've used Cetaphil ( a generic brand is cheaper ) as a shave lotion and also a no foam one from Alba that I LOVE!! Conditioner sounds like a great idea though, I think one of the Paul Mitchell conditioner's - possibly a leave in one- also can be used to shave with.

I use mens gillete mac 3 turbo and its great, most razors usually leave me with red bumps but not this one! and i use hair conditioner too.

I use gillette venus divine, and gillette shaving gel.

I love it, so good at not cutting you, as I am pretty rough with them and the gel makes your legs super smooth !

I like Bic's Silky Touch (I think that's what they're called) razors because they're the only razors I can find in the drugstores that don't have a moisturizing strip! I think those strips just get slimy and clog up the blade, preventing me from getting the closest shave possible! And I just use good old Skintimite shaving gel! (The gel, not the cream! Also, the Walmart generic brand Equate shaving gel sucks!!) Also, make sure you always shave with the direction of the hair growth on any sensitive, razor-burn prone areas!

However, our new apartment has the world's tiniest hot water heater and I barely have enough hot water to take a quick shower, so I've been lazy and just using an electric razor! (You don't have worry about cuts and razor burn with an electric razor!) When I shave in the shower I shave every other day, and a shave with an electric razor makes my legs look like the day after a shower shave, so I can deal with that! Plus, the electric is a lot faster and easier when I'm in a hurry in the morning!

I use Nair roll on hair remover. Leave it one for a few minutes and the hair just wipes right off. It contains babt oil so it leaves your skin soft and not with that chemical smell it used to have.

i love aveeno oatmeal shave cream and my handy lady gilette disposable razor (green and with purple strip).

for after shaving i use derma e tea tree and e moisture gel or cream. anti bacterial and leaves my skin smooth, toned and tingly!

use a Dove beauty bar! It'll leave your skin really silky and they also have a sensitive skin version that's really nice too, I always shave with the original cream bar but I have normal skin on my body. Also you should never moisturise straight after shaving as your pores will be really open and if you put moisturiser on straight after shaving, once your pores close when your body has cooled down, you'll end up with red little bumps all over your skin. Leave it about 10-15 minutes after bathing/shaving and use baby oil or E45 if your skin is really dry

I used to get really bad cuts and was scared to shave.

Has anyone tried Veet? I would like to know for my daughter...she is 12.

I pretreat with Awaken Sea Salt Scrub...wash off really good then use our mens shave gel. I have sensitive skin and so does my man. He works at UPS so has to shave daily and has very corse hair and he got some because they said it would clear him up and give a great, close, clean shave and it did.

So eventually I tried it one day because of my bad razor burn/rash and I fell in love. It is very concentrated.
