First of all I am terrible at eyebrow maintenance. I'm a plucker. I'd love to have mine waxed or threaded, but do to finances with me attending school now it's just not an option. That and I'm one of those people that have to maintain the eye frame on a frequent basis. I swear my hair line starts at my head and travels down to my toes. (I am the missing link!)

My eyebrows have no character whatsoever.

They just look like horizontal parenthesis lifelessly framing my peepers. I so want them to be cute and shapely. Is there any hope for me? Any website recommendations would be appreciated.

u could shape them with benefit browzing .. think some1 posted a tut in the tut forum

Hi oobladi, you could always try using eyebrow stencils. There are a few different makes on the market.Shavata is one which is sold on QVC.You choose a stencil closest to your natural eyebrow shape..if you feel you dont have a shape you can us the stencil as a guideline and create a shape that you like. There are different shapes to choose from.

I was just going to post on this same topic! I am having brow woes too. Mine have finally all grown back in. I had plucked them quite some time ago, and got them way to thin for my taste, now I'm nervous about doing it again. I get a little wild when I get the tweezers out LOL Right now they are just shapeless and I'm debating on whether to reshape, or just leave them be.

BTW, what is threading? I have heard this mentioned several times and am at a loss.

Using stencils may help. " Anastasia " is sold at Sephora and check out the website "Eyebrowz". Hope this helps.

Since you are on a budget you might want to get a professional wax job and then just keep them up with plucking every couple of days or so. I wouldn't invest in stencils if I wasn't sure how to use them.

You can get brow wax for $20.. I would get it professionally done first, and than it's easier to maintain from there!

i had that problem. the best investment ive ever made was Anastasia Brow Stencils for like $20. oh my god now i have awsome brows and i dont have to go to a salon for them. ive been using them (they come in a set of 4) for a few years. makes me happy about all the misery and the money they've saved. trust me. its a god send.

or if you want threading or a pro wax job go to your local beauty school...the prices are only the cost of materials and the students are usually the most senior and always supervised by teachers...best eyebrow wax i ever got done was at a beauty school! i'm a student too so i'm always looking to save a bit of money and still look decent =)

hope this helps!

I agree. any local cosmo class will do it for you for virtually nothing. then after the inital wax you can do the up keep by tweezing.

Threading is a technique where thread is wrapped around your hair and then pulled so that you are plucked... I have no idea how those women do it, but I've heard nothing but rave reviews... I think I'm going to start doing it myself,
As far as waxing- I opt not to wax. I work in a lab of a cosmetic company and was told by one of our scientists that waxing your eyebrows produces negative long-term effects- your eye skin is the thinnest and most sensitive skin on your face, and the hot wax a) pulls off layers of your skin-sometimes burning it if the person doesnt do it right and b)eventually destroys the skin's elasticity because of all the pulling and tugging. this means your skin will eventually droop down toward your eyelid

I hope I dont sound like a know-it-all... I just never thought that something that takes 2 seconds could be bad for you and wanted to share!

Eyebrowz is a great site! My friend referred me to Alexis Vogel's stencils though as apparently they're great for people with smaller faces. I haven't used them, but she's been using them for about two years now. You can go to www.makeupconnection.com to view her stencils. They're reusable too, and only cost $6.95. Good luck!
