Hi! I need some help with a good shampoo and conditioner. Here is some information about my hair:

- color treated (at a salon)

- light brown / dark blonde with highlights (not natural)

- oily scalp/hair

- dry/split ends

My hair has always been terrible. I can never find a good shampoo / conditioner combination. I have naturally very oily hair. After I get out of the shower, I blowdry my hair, and then my roots are flat on my head and it looks like I haven't washed my hair in a week (it's worse if I let my hair air-dry). I've tried so many different shampoo and conditioner combos. I've tried not even using conditioner, and trying different amounts of shampoo and conditioner. It doesn't help. Then I thought maybe I'm not fully washing it out of my hair. Nope. I could be in there for over an hour and it still happens. I've also tried using hair products for oily hair (that morrocan oil has one).

I know people have mentioned clarifying shampoo, but I'm afraid it will strip the color!

Any help would be appreciated! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Hi Cate,

I also have professionally colored hair since years. I noticed it getting oily last year with hormone changes (I am in my mid 20s). My stylist recommended that I train my hair as I wash it too often and it has enough oil. I am now washing my hair every two days (you can still shower every day) and it has helped tremendously. I also got the purple shampoo (usually for silver hair) from Matrix to use once a week in order for the hair to stay blonde and not get a yellow tint. My hair does grat with Redken and Matrix . I have stepped away from any brands bought at the drug store and only buy at thesalon and I can tell you it did wonders for me.

I hope you find a solution.

Thanks for your help! I had my hair bleached for about 6+ months and I just put a color over it yesterday. It's like a dark blonde/light brown. After I had my hair bleached, I started washing my hair only 2 times a week. The bleach was actually good for my hair because it dried out the roots a little, but I still am having problems with the oily-ness. I don't like Redken. I've tried different products by them over the years and I feel like I don't see any changes with them. Maybe I'll try Matrix.

Hi! i had a similar problem but fortunately i came across ' My Beauty Compare' This guys are absolutely fabulous. It worth giving them a try. I am very happy with the products i am using recomended by them.
