They sell this on HSN.com has anyone tried this line? It is really pretty inexpensive and has some really great ingredients. I would love to have one skincare line that I stick with instead of a little of this and that. Let me know if you have tried it, what you tried and if you did or did not like it. TIA.

I've seen it on HSN too, but never tried it. I'd love to have one skin care line too, but then again, I love trying new products too much! lol...

I tried SSC a long time ago....back when they only had 3 lines (acne, Vit C and Vit A). Now they have so much more.

I tried the cleansers (vit A, C, glycolic and acne wash). The vit A was nice because it was very gentle. The C wasn't for me because they said it is more for over-40 skin. The glycolic hurt my skin and the acne wash was equally harsh for my skin.

The sulfur was great but it smelled funny. It did help with some of my acne though. I mostly used the vit A kit (serum and moisturizer) but after a while I realized my skin wasn't changing very much.

As for the makeup, I tried the liquid foundation (before I found minerals) and it was pretty good. They also have a tinted moisturizer that I liked.

I think if you want to try it, you should try to get the smaller kits they offer. This way you could try their products in "travel" type sizes and not spend too much money before you know if you'll like it. I think they have some nice products. I now use something else because my skin gets crazy.

Oh, I've thought about trying olive oil but never got around to it. Ulta used to sell it but the Ulta near me doesn't seem to display it anymore.

I hope this helps! Good luck!

Yes that does help, thanks. I want to try the Olive Oil one also. I see they have a mineral makeup too now. Not sure if it is pure though.
I know that HSN has a customer review section, I should read that. But you never know who really sends that in.

At least with SSC you can send it back if it does not work for you. You really can not do that anywhere else.

If I may make a suggestion to you: Go to Make-Up Talks forum that skin care companies have paid to advertise on and check them out. Some of the companies listed have had some good reviews written up on their product line on Make-Up Talk. You might fine several that peak your interest. If you e-mail them they will help you. If you go to HSN and order and have questions or concerns there is no one to help you.

they have it on clearence at ulta i know.

i never heard of the brand until recently when i also saw it on tv.

i might go and pick something up of it cause it looks pretty cool.

I used Serious Skin Care for about three years, basically the A line but I also tried the Olive Oil, Glycolic, Combination skin products (lime green colored container, such as copper serum and cream, etc.)- basically everything but Vitamin C and the anti-sag line they used to have in the lavender-colored container (don't know if they have it any more or not). At first it was okay but then like another person who posted said it just started to not do much for my skin. In addition, sometimes I would receive products and they would be old and dried out, or oils would have separated, or what happened lots of times was the products only came about 2/3 full. Back when I first ordered it around 1998 they containers were FULL just as advertised on TV. I was very put-off by the fact I was paying more for the products as time went on and progressively receiving less and less for my money, even though during on-air presentations they would show jars full to the brim with product and that simply was just not the case- basically false advertising. My skin is relatively sensitive and the glycolic definitely dried my skin a lot, the Olive oil clogged my pores terribly (might as well just have spread Crisco on my face instead of paying $70 for the Olive Oil kit I got), and the Liquid Laser product literally caused chemical burns to my face but did nothing to remove stray hairs on my face and legs, even with leaving it on the maximum amount of time. I totally gave up Serious Skin Care about a year ago and have come across a few good skin care lines since, including:

1. Good Skin (manufactured by Estee Lauder for Kohl's Department Store under the "Good Skin" label) These products are fantastic and have been my standard since forgoing Serious Skin Care. I use the lime green colored line for combination skin and it is really wonderful- gentle enough for the sensitive areas of my face while reducing and balancing out oily spots. The daily moisture cream is GREAT. They have lots of different, comprehensive lines for all different kinds of skin types.

2. be.fine- Skin care line carried only at CVS drugstore (available through their website online and at their retail stores). They have sample kits of night products and a sample kit of day products, each selling for $20 (3 pieces to each sample kit), in addition to about 10 different full size products in their line. I have been using these products for a week now and the texture of my skin is so nice and soft! I am a big fan of the cocoa night cream since it is nice and light (has no scent, not even a slight hint of chocolate smell). The line is based on food products which provide antioxidants and vitamins essential for good skin health. be.fine has their own website where you can find out more.

3. Garnier Nutriesse- This will be the next skincare line I try since my budget may be getting kind of tight coming up with our mortgage payment for our new house we just moved into. These products received very good reviews on Drugstore.com's website and are reasonably priced. I will update this post once I have tried the products but they look very good and can be found easily at any mass retailer.

If you are wondering why I listed several companies, even though Good Skin is my HG, I am always looking for the next best thing and will be writing reviews for a major Internet site on various skincare lines and products so I'm currently in the process of sampling and trying out new things.

I hope that this helps somewhat. As someone else said, if you want to try Serious Skin Care, go for a smaller kit that you don't have to invest much into. Personally, I would not waste my time and money even trying them as I feel there are much better products out there...just my opinion though.
