Serious discoloration problem

okay one of my friends has a tanned olive skin tone and she has serious discoloration in her inner thigh. When she showed me the discoloration, it was darker than my skin tone ( med-brown). Since bathing suit season is coming up, she really wants to get rid of it. She has tried exfoliating and bleach creams. The bleach cream worked for awhile but it came back. Do any of you mut girls have any advice for her? Does anyone know what causes discoloration?

sometmes it caused by hormones,like the pill. there's another thread about this around here........i'm sure one of the mods will find it for you!!

oh really but she is not the pill but hormones does sound reasonable

do a search here for hyperpigmentation, there lots of diff. post.

some are on faces and some are on backs..........

Yes, I was gona say it sounds like a hormone condition common in pregnant woman, but not limited to. I agree the other thread is loaded with information.

Hi Tesia, your friends problem is very comon.The dark patches of discoloration usally is hormonal but any dark patches should be protected from the sun as this can make them darker.Some people get marks on the side of their face and neck so sun protection is wise.Also maybe one of the skin lightening treatments might work on those area's though it would be better to check with a dermatologist first just to be sure.
