Hi all! I have used Jergens and L'oreal tanning moisturizers, but wondering what everyone uses, and how often do you use it? Everyone looks so nice and tan these days, and I use to head to the tanning booth but I have sworn that off because it is just too harmful a habit! So I am wondering if anyone actually has a great tan year round simply from self tanning...or if most of y'all are hitting the tanning booths!

The Hawaiian Tropic Island Glow smells like green tea, so I use that. I should be using the fair, but the medium isn't too dark and I hate applying every day.

It's the only one I've found that doesn't have that retch-inducing smell of self-tanners. It's new but I was able to find it at Wal*Mart before they ran out. I live in Florida, and our Wal*Mart runs out of all the good stuff right away, since everyone's legs are exposed pretty much year-round.

I've used both Jergens and L'Oreal. What I like about Jergens is that it's very forgiveable since just gives you a light tan. It gave me a nice "glow" as it said on the bottle. The only thing that sucks about it is that it smells. Like really bad but I usually put it on at night and then shower in the morning so it's not so bad. I kinda liked the L'oreal one but I found the colour to be a bit too....dark and fake looking for my skin. I'm currently prepping for a new self tanner called Savage bronzer which I hear is really good. I'll let you know how it goes!

I use Neutrogena...You can see just where you need to go with the application and it's fast drying..so ya don't have wait.

Well I just got back from the store and I saw that there is a new Banana Boat one, so I purchased that since they had fair and medium, and I am very fair. I also was looking at the The Hawaiian Tropic Island Glow, which I hadn't seen before, but they only had Medium so I didnt get it. Hmmm, hopefully I notice some difference with the fair, with Jergens I would use medium sometimes for more color. Thanks!

Yes definitely let me know how you like the new one! I was very happy with Jergens, but the smell was sooo bad! Even when I used it at night, I almost couldnt sleep because of the horrible smell, lol. I only used L'oreal a couple times because the smell also bothered me. I am going to try this Banana Boat one that says "fresh scent and oil free" so we will see!

I do like the Jergens Face, gives a nice glow with almost no smell at all!

Right now I have been tanning in the booth, and using Jergen's lotion, which helps enchance the tan a bit. I don't tan on my face because I get too many freckles, uneven skin, etc. I need to get a face tanner! I really liked Jergen's...and the smell! LOL I thought it was nice. I've tried Coppertone before, it was pretty good. Lately though I've been interested in the spray on tanners in a bottle than the lotions. It seems like the application/color would be more even and plus you don't have to deal with all of that mess on your hands!

I'm thinking about getting Jergens for body and face. But I have a question.Do I need to put this on everyday to keep looking tan, does it come off when taking a bath or a shower?

I just barely started using L'oreals sublime glow in fair. I have only put one application so no results yet but if I keep putting it in I will see some eventually. It's weird because my face tans easily but my legs don't, LOL! So I'm only using it on my legs.

Take care,

Audra :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

No it won't come off in the shower but you cannot shower soon after applying it. I recommend applying it the night before if you shower in the morning, or after showering in the morning since it is a moisturizer.

I use Olay Touch of Sun on my body and I really like it! I have it for normal skin but you can also get it for extra dry. It actually has a pleasant smell and I've yet to see any streaking. I use it daily after I shower and I feel like it gives me quite a bit of color. On my face I use Loreal Sublime Glow dual action self tanner & bronzer. It comes out in the same pump and you mix it with your fingers and then apply. I like it, but I'm still keeping my eyes peeled for something more long lasting for the face.

Hmm I may have to try those both, thanks for the suggestions! I use jergens face for my face, but do not see much color..maybe I get use to it though, lol. Have you seen any streaking on your face with the sublime glow? I always want to try the sublime glow self tanners for the body for more color than the body glows, but I am very afraid of the streaking!

tonight i just bought the jergens in medium (although i am fair i dont have time to lotion every single morning...so every other day should work)

i can't wait to have no more pasty legs!!!

I use St Tropez bronzing mist. Its perfect, it smells beautiful, does not go streaky and although pricey the bottle lasts ages and it gives you a really natural unorangey colour, and it is foolproof!! In between applying my tan I use one of those body moisturisers with a hint of tan in them to prolong my colour.

I haven't noticed any streaking with the Sublime Glow for face, and I think it's because with the dual action pump you get half bronzer and half sunless tanner. So that not only helps you see where you put it but it dillutes the tanner so you don't have to be quite so careful when putting it on. After I apply it I always take a cotton ball and do a little blending around my forehead and jawline just to be safe. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I only use sunless tanners and i really like the loreal sublime glow in medium, it smells like green tea

i also just got the dove, i just put it on for the first time tonight so i dont know what the color is like but my friend tested it on her arm earlier today and she said her arm is like black, it smells great too!

I've read that St Tropez's bronzer even hides stretch marks, does it hide anything???
