:rockwoot: OK, I am a big sissy, but I haven't ever done my eyebrows! They are all natural! Which was cool in Brooke Shields' day, but not now. They have a natural shape and I have received compliments on them, but I am ready to get rid of the stray end hairs and thin out the thickness.

Does anyone have any suggestions for pain control? I have EMLA cream that we use on my daughter when she has blood draws, you put it on and wait about 1 hr. It has lidocaine, so it might help?

And no laughing at me!!!

Honestly i dont think it hurts but everyone is different. I dont wax because they never do it right. I maintain them myself.

I don't think it hurts at all, but I like the EMLA cream idea if your worried about pain. I would contact your waxer to see if they like the EMLA idea.

I don't think it hurts much either, but I tweeze mine because I feel that it is more accurate.

Ibuprofen might help. I can't remember what i used when i first got my brows waxed, but now , I can't even feel the pain anymore when i wax 'em

Have you tried threading? To me it feels just like tweezing, plus it doesn't leave you red and/or bleeding like waxing and it's more precise. I would definitely try that!

I forgot about threading, I have heard about that. I will have to look around for somewhere here that does it. Thanks for reminding me! /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

waxing doesnt hurt, but if you are scared of the idea, see a professional the first time... actually, you should see a professional the first time anyway- so that you get the right shape the first time around.

find someone who has GREAT eyebrows and ask where she got them done- they will be flattered you asked!!!

ummm i wouldnt wax your first time. if youve never done anything to your eyebrows your brows an be very very very sensitive, id thread first just to see how it goes. i tried waxing and the first time i got tiny little scabs. just becareful!!!!

Tweazing is worse pain in my opinion because its like 100 little pinches versus just one quick one. Just remember to relax- its no big thing...

Its not that bad,I got mine done for the first time last year and it did not hurt a bit.You just have to RELAX when getting them done.

Yeah, you big weenie! Just kidding. It does hurt but it only stings for a second or two, then they have some cream that they put on that helps soothe your skin. You can try the EMLA cream (just make sure you wipe it off and clean your skin) before you get your brows done. You DEFINITELY want to get them done, Brooke...trust me on this. ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

i thought that said SOUR cream and i was thinking..why the heck would they put sour cream on your eyebrows?

Yeah I like this better. Although its a bit more painful than tweezing for me, but I think the outcome is worth the 5 seconds of pain :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

If you are worried about pain, I suggest maybe taking some mild pain killers about half an hour before your appointment, but honestly, the pain isn't that bad and you are only there for a short amount of time. By the sounds of things, you don't want that much hair removed, so I think you will be fine. Everyone is scared to get their eyebrows waxed first time, I can understand! You'll be thanking yourself afterwoods though, you'll have beautiful brows :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

She DEFINITELY needs to go. (This is my big sister!) I've been trying to get her to go for a while now...I mean she doesn't look bad but I think it would add so much to her eyes if she could take some of her brows away. Tammy, I think you need to go see Donna with me. I need to get her to do mine anyway. I'll see if I can make an appointment for the both of us! AND YOU WILL GO! You will go FIRST!

Everybody is different, but be careful!!!

I went to a salon and I knew the girl that was doing it (but it wasn't the girl that had done them before), and she made one mistake and literally half of one of my eyebrows is missing and I've been using eyebrow pencil for over a month to fill them in.

I don't use anything, I sometimes get an ice cube in a wash cloth but the pain was never bad for me. . .
