Any BTDT's? My scalp is all jacked up and I'm wondering if I need to scrub a dub dub it with an exfoliant.

When my scalp gets itchy and irritable, I switch to a gentle, cleansing shampoo.

My scalp calms down and feels a lot better.

What symptoms do you have?

a deep cleansing shampoo perhaps might help? I use Neutrogena's Anti Residue Shampoo. It must get off the debris off hair and all as it does make my hair more drying after I use it.

What's a BTDT? I'm an on again, off again lurker. LOL

I use baking soda on my hair/scalp and haven't had any problems with dandruff in years. Make a loose paste and massage your scalp with it while in the shower. Let it sit while you wash, then you rinse it out, and follow with your normal hair cleansing routine. It might help to use an organic shampoo product, instead of your normal product.

My scalp is itchy, has some gunk like styling product build up which is probably from my shampoo since I don't use any styling products.

BTDT= been there, done that
I tried making a baking soda paste and my hair is so thick that it was a pain in the butt to get the paste to my scalp.

I'm sure that organic shampoo would be lovely but it's not in the budget. Not complaining about the cost of things or the fact that I budget just stating the facts.

I'm wondering if I should just get my hair cut it would be so much easier to care for.

I use a boar bristles brush to exfoliate my scalp. I don't brush my hair with it, but I gently press it to my scalp and wiggle it back and forth in a small area, then move on to the next small area until my whole scalp is done.

Maybe add the baking soda to your shampoo...I don't know. Baking soda has done wonders for my scalp...especially during my last pregnancy. My scalp flakes really bad during that time.

I hear you about the cost of the organic stuff...I buy clearanced out items from the grocery store. So, I am not brand loyal when it comes to that. Good Luck in finding something that works for you.
