I have a question about which product in particular would help both Follicular Macular Atrophy & Depressed Fibrotic Scars, or what would be recommended. THANKS!

(hope you don't mind, tangerinex3. I edited your post to have sentence case lettering in it so that it wasn't in all capital letters which looks like you're yelling at the screen! - Annelle)

No clue, but a little Googling can often lead you in the right direction. There's a great forum that's all about acne treatment.

I agree. Check out the scar forum on acne.org, the people who post on there probably have way more experience with these specific issues than anyone on here.

And start looking for a great dermatologist/plastic surgeon who specializes in scar treatment (lasers, fillers, etc). I´d also get a second opinion from another specialist if you can, before you get any procedures done.

Btw, unfortunately, depressed acne scars barely respond to any topical treatments (besides TCA CROSS in some cases) - if that was your question.

Thanks Ladies. I will check out the site you gave me, Andi. . .

I've been to dermo and laser specialists, but both can get extremely expensive.

I would also look into using skin oils. Some oils have regenerative properties and can help the skin heel and repair.

A product like Bio Oil?! I was reading on Mario Badescu's page and it talks about their products helping, but I'm not sure if they would work. (They wont answer my e-mails to specific questions either.)

I bet! I haven´t had any procedures like that done myself, but I´ve been reading about them on the acne.org forum out of curiosity.

These things are expensive, but they will give you improvement, but you need to do your own research to find out which procedure will give you the most improvement for your type of scars.

I wouldn´t waste my time with any topical product in hopes of improving acne scars. Forget bio-oil and things like microdermabrasion, they don´t resurface the skin which is what you need to improve the look of your scars. Even Retin-A, which is proven to help build collagen cannot fill in depressed scars because scar tissue is damaged skin!

It´s really a frustrating process, but if you want real results you will have to go back to a skilled dermatologist/plastic surgeon.
