Although it is embarassing, that's not the "red" I'm talking about!

It seems my facial skintone is more red/pink than every other part of my body. I am very pale, but when it comes to my face I am more pink. I find myself using liquid foundation just to mask the redness.

My question is, is there a way I can get rid of it and have my face match the rest of my skin? I have some acne, but it's not a very big issue. Could this be causing it?

I am sick of looking "pink" rather than "fair," and would appreciate anyone's help! Any cleansors/treatments available? Is it normal?

Thanks!

If it's just pink and not truly red, it's very normal. For many Caucasians, the nose and cheeks are slightly more pink than the rest of the face and body (or so I was told in another thread on this board). I am also very pale (I was the first person that the Prescriptives sales associate had seen that was too pale for thier full-coverage foundations!), and my nose is noticeably more red than the rest of my face, and the inner part of my cheeks tend to stay fairly pink too. However I don't think it's as bad as rosacea after seeing pics of people with rosacea, I think it's just normal pinkness, especially since the rest of my body flushes a similar shade of pink easily in the heat or when irritated.

For years I always tried to hide the redness with yellow-based foundations, but I ended up looking pasty white, or cakey from too much foundation, or something else wrong.... So now I am using a sheer foundation (Prescriptives Traceless) which has a yellow undertone so it tones down the pink but does not hide it completely. But I am surprised to find that I actually love it because it looks so much more natural than any of the full or medium coverage foundations I've tried! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> And a good concealor hides the circles under my eyes and any red ance blemishes I may have.

Just think, some people pay money to buy blush and make their cheeks pink ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I'm very pale too (with pink undertones all over my skin), but I can flush alot so my face can go really red. It is embarrasing but its usally if I've been out in the cold or I feel hot.. so I can just blame that lol. I have mild rosacea on my cheeks its not bumpy or anything just slighty pink/red, It just looks like blusher so it dosen't bother me to much. Anyhoo I've got some Emu Oil, the stuff is brilliant its helped the redness around the corners of my nose nearly go. Its helped around my delicate eye area!.. and Its seemed to calm the redness of my cheeks on all. Not inculding the small pimple on chin!. I love Emu Oil, you only need a tiny amount and it can help with all that! x

If it is just on the pink side, it may be just your own skin tone...If it feels some irritated or flushed feeling especially on the cheeks..ya might want to get checked for Rosacea..I believe there are some good treatments..also..skincare & makeup with Chamomile may help calm some reddness..and even soy products help brighten skin.

I have the same problem but I dont have red color but I have pink skin tone in my face and my body is pale...even I want to look even..so whenevr I go for color match they give me in N tones and that doesnt match my body tone and looks artificial :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I flush easily too, so my skin can go from being normal and not red, to feeling hotter and noticeably redder, even without weather changes! Is that roseacea? I go to a derm, so I hope he would be able to tell whether I have it or not.

i have the exact same situation! i always have some redness and i am always trying to get rid of it! when i feel hot, or cold, or when i am embarrased and sometimes just for no reason. aren't we lucky... :icon_conf

I am this way too. After going to the Prescriptives counter, the lady used Prescriptives Redness Relief Gel and I could see a noticeable line from where she applied it and where there was no product. She used it on my naked neck area, where there was no makeup. It's on my WANT/NEED list. I only bought the foundation while there though (watching my budget)....too see how my face has pinkish looking skintone too (post # 14 here, pic 1 has no makeup):

YOu might want to go to your nearest Prescriptives counter and they can let you sample it. also have them do a color print on you for a foundation. They also have a redness correcting powder (which is 75% water....it's soooooo weird and feels soooo good....I NEED/WANT this item too).

I have a simular problem my body is an obvious different colour than my face.

Im quite tanned and have a yellow/golden colour to the skin on my body including my neck, however my face isn't quite the same its a bit paler and pinkier esp my cheeks and at the moment its driving me insane to say the least.

i see girls with perfect pale skin that is flawless and i want to cry. anyone who has solved this problem, w/ certain skincare, etc, def let us know!

I have a slight redness just beside my cheeks directly under my eyes and I use a green concealer when its really bad, and it really works!

I have the same problem, redness mainly on my cheeks, but sometimes also chin and nose. I always thought it´s my acne marks but I´m not so sure anymore. my face looks normal on some days and on others I look a bit too flushed for my liking. my skin is not sensitive though...I don´t know much about rosacea but I always thought only people with sensitive skin have it.

I know there is a slightly green toned moisturizer with SPF by "Eucerin" but I am kinda thinking it´s a Europe-only brand. I am thinking about buying it since I´m about to run out of my usual moisturizer anyway and it didn´t have SPF in it, which I´m gonna need now that summer is approaching

I tried the Eucerin w/ the green tone (moisturizer), but it stung a bit. I'm sure it was the SPF in it. I'm pretty sensitive to alot of SPF's. I didn't notice much of a difference in redness, probably because it was irratating my skin.

In my line of Aloette, we have aloe based products that have helped calm and comfort many people's sensitive skin situations. My cousin has exzema and has had no outbreaks or flareups, since using just the gentle foaming cleanser and a moisturizer from Aloette's line. Although I know this will not cure it, but it may help to calm it down so there are not flare ups.....Aloette has products with very soothing and calming properties - the main one being "aloe". We have clients with Rosacea as well and it seemed to be gentle enough for their skin as well.....again, it will not treat the condition, but rather calm it. If it is a skin condition, you may want to advice a dermatologist. But if you want to try another route, you could PM me for more info.

That being said, the other product I found that helped and didn't bother my skin, was from Prescriptives. Redness Relief Gel, but it's spendy, I think it was $50.
