Question for Differin Users

I just started using Differin. Previous acne medications from my derm did not work. Many ladies on this forum raved about this. I hope it works for me too.

My question is....I use this at night. Is it ok to put moisturizer on after I put the Differin on my face? Or do you skip the moisturizer at night? I don't want my skin to dry out too much.

When my derm recommended this he said to first use it everyother night so my skin would get use to it and not get dry, and then after a week to use it everynight. However, I never asked about a mousturizer. By the way are you using the Differin gel or creme?

Hi. I am using the cream. My derm thought the gel would be too drying.

What type of skin do you have?

It's hard to say. I always thought I had oily skin. Now I think it is oily because I used products that were too harsh. I think my skin is actually combo. I live in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic area. It gets cold in the winter. My skin tends to be drier with some shine in the winter.

In the summer, it gets hot here. My skin tends to be oilier in the t-zone. My breakouts are in the chin/jawline area. I just want them to go away!

ok thanks, I had previously used the Differen creme like a year ago
(it worked really good when I was using it everyday) However I stopped using it and when I went back to it, it wasn't working that well. So now I am going to go see the derm this Wed. I talked to this other girl who got the gel and said it worked well for her. So I was just curious.

I would ask your dermatologist, he would be able to give you the best advice for your particular skin. My derm just told me to use moisturizer when my skin dried out (which only happened when I was using 10% benzoyl peroxide cream!) so I never used moisturizer with Differin, even though now I am hearing that even oily-skinned people need moisturizer.
