About a week ago, I bought a Calgon lotion that smelled really good and it made my hands really soft. Now, it's starting to smell really gross. Kind of like alcohol mixed with rotten friut, but it still makes my hands really soft and I haven't gotten any skin problems, like rashes, from using it. I went to the drugstore where I bought it and they didn't have it anymore. There's still a lot of it left and it feels like such a waste to throw it out. Should I throw it away or just keep using it and ignore the smell?

Not sure what is going on with that..but, if something changes smells for the worse...it can't be good.

I threw it away today because the smell was getting worse. It was only $4 so I don't think I'll try to contact the company or anything. I usually get Victoria's Secret lotions because they smell really good and make my hands soft, but they're kind of expensive. I just got this drugstore one to save some money, but I won't be doing that anymore.

Throw it out(looks like you did) and write/email the company regarding it!

i was gonna tell you to throw it out, too, because when something smells bad, it means its gone bad!

i would definitely email the company just to let them know and i'd be curious.

It would be interesting to know how long that cream was on the shelf. The problem with buying non popular brands is that they don't get bought as often and end up sitting on the shelf too long without being replenished.

calgon is made by coty and a lot of their products just don't work for me. i say if you don't like the smell pitch it. you can find another brand that will keep your skin soft and is not too expensive.

I'm also wondering how long it was on the shelf. I have a lotion that I bought over a year ago and it stills smells good, so maybe that smelly one was on the shelf even longer than that. :icon_eek:

That's true. Maybe that's why there wasn't anymore on the shelf when you went back. I'm glad you threw it out. I agree that sometimes trying to go the cheap route, you end up losing quality.

I give a lot of that stuff to my kids, knowing that they will waste it. They love to play with everything and get fancy, so it's not a total loss.
