Question about facials

I've never had a facial before but I'm thinking to get one soon. My question is if it makes your whiteheads and blackeads disappear? Also is it worth all that money. Any inofo will be great!

It is definately worth it. But you have to make sure you tell them that you've never had one before so they go easy on you.

I agree, facials are definitely worth the money. but make sure you go to a reputable place - maybe get a friend's recommendation. some facialists do blackhead extractions - it's a bit painful, and won't completely eradicate them, but it seems to work at least for the short term....

u have red marks all over your face after doing that it takes a few days for them to go away completely. but after that ur face would be clear !

I usually breakout a bit after a facial. I think it's because it brings the bad stuff to the surface. But it does ease blackheads....be forewarned it hurts.

Facials are fantastic (I'm biased though, I'm an esthetician /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />) Not only will it do wonders for your skin, it's very relaxing, and it's always fun to pamper yourself a little.

Let them know it's your first time getting a facial, and voice yourself when they ask what areas you want them to pay attention to most.

If you end up getting one, enjoy it!

I used to get facials but I was too young to enjoy them or appreciate them lol. I did however get excellent skin advice from aestheticians. I remember my skin glowing after one particular facial.

They are definitely worth it! There are many different types of facials though and as has already been said, make sure it's a reputable place. I just had my first professional facial about 2 weeks ago and I loved it!!!

You can get a particular facial where they put you under a steamer and squeeze absolutley everything from your pores. But, it's painful, and leaves red marks for a while. Your best bet is a good daily cleansing ritual. However, straight up regular facials are probably my favourite thing ever. Epesically if someone good does the massage.

Actually... It's possible. Just doesn't happen straight away. You Estheitcian can extract blackheads for you if she feels they won't come away with the exfoliation. Regular facials along side a regular skincare routine you can eventually eradicate them. If you look after your skin well enough, you will be less likely to develop them.

Thanks for all your comments. I'm gonna go ahead and get one. I would love to get my blackheads extracted..I know they will come back but it will be nice to see most of them gone for a while.

I was told to tip 5% but I'm usually very generous if I'm comfortable and like them. I've tipped up to 50%. I know that's not realistic for most people but I like to be generous (they have to make a living) and believe me they will remember you next time.

If you plan to go again I'd say tip well if you can afford to, they will remember & they will treat you well.

I go for facials as the seasons change and find them helpful in upkeeping my skin. There is an esthetics school in my city which offers facials for a cheaper price and they always do a great job. And I do give the esthetics student a tip.

welll when ever i do facials...the aesthetician extracts all my white and blackheads. it hurt like crazy...but i guess its worth it cuz ur face feels clean and nice afterwards.

Does anyone know how long they last? Like how long you would be able to notice a difference in your skin?

At the salon I go to the cheapest facial is $70 & most are around $110-$150..

Damn that is so expensive!!
