i've never gotten them done and i've never done them myself..

anyway, i worry about getting them done because if they get messed up even once i feel like they'll never get completely back to normal

so just wondering....

you know how at hair salons sometimes they have magazines and sample pics from which you can choose a hairstyle

do salons usually have pics from which you can choose an eyebrow style?

i mean i could say please leave them thick but the person dpoing my brows may have a different definition than i do of thick... so yes do they pics from which you can choose?

I've had mine done before at salons, but I've only had them tidy them up. If your wanting something special and have a certain shape in mind I recommend taking a pic with you.

I totaly agree!!!! I have been to salons that I walk out with the way I asked for them to be shaped and I have walked out with them thinner than i ever wanted them. So take a pic with you and let them know its exactly what you want.

If you ever do decide to do them yourself, there are kits out there to help you with doing it yourself.

I do my own with a NADS facial hair wand - it's ace for doing eyebrows because of the shape of the wand. Plus the wax washes off with water, so if you get a bit of wax in the wrong place you can just wash it off and start again!

When I do other peoples though I ask them if they want a reshape or just a tidy up, If they are unsure, I go slow and just keep saying - is that enough?? until they're happy with it, then do the other.

As said already above, if you have something specific in mind I'd take a pic in.

you should go to a place where you know someone who goes there and is happy with their service.

i've recommended a lot of my coworkers and friends to pinky's on 58th and lex (or something like that) and EVERYONE'S been so happy with them!

I agree go for somewhere you know has a good rep, I recently got my threaded and asked the lady for them not to thin, about the size they are now and for them both look like my 'good brow' about a minute later I had two perfect brows, so it's really all about communication...good luck!

hey thanks! i will definitely check them out. i plan on going for my first 'treatment' before the summer

I would just bring a pic of what you're wanting and show them so they get an idea of it. It took me forever, but I finally found a lady who runs a little shop in my town that does an excellent job. First she'll wax, then pluck and style.

Bringing in a pic is a very good idea, it can be a lot easier, some people arn't the best at describing what they want, remember your idea of a "thin eyebrow" or an "arched brow" may be veerryyyy different to what the person doing your service's idea is.

I do a lot of eyebrow shaping in the salon I work in, and it's VERY important that you find out EXACTLY what the client wants. You may have done a great job on the client but it may not have been what they wanted, and they'll walk out being very unhappy. You want to keep your clients, so listen to them!

i agree, you must have an exact idea of what you want, or a pic. the only time i got mine done, the lady just made me lie down and with wax (i told her it was burning but she thought i was just being silly) almost erased all my brows. they were so thin, lol. she said i looked more like a woman (what, because before i looked like a monkey? :rotfl: ). i did say i wanted my brows thiner, but not that thin.

so yeah, it's all about communication. at least, if your brows are too thin, make sure you have something to fill in your brows.

Take a pic with you. I have mine done at my salon and I've never had a problem. But, everywhere is different.
