Hi all. Had facials. If you're expecting "miracles" at making you look younger (I don't know how old you are) forget it. I'm 55 and a friend of mine (friends for 40 years) has been going for facials for the last 35 years. She's a year younger than I am, but her skin looks 5 years older than mine.
BUT that being said, if you want a wonderful, totally relaxing experience... do it. Both schools and spas are good. Only difference I've found? Price. Spa is more expensive but you get an atmosphere that definitely enhances the experience.
Not only does the facial totally cleanse and relax your face, but you also get a neck, chest and shoulder massage. It's like a little bit of heaven!
Sorry, but I so disagree with Pieced saying to go in and tell them what type of skin you have and they'll choose the products. The estheticians (yes, including those in training... don't forget that they do consult with the teachers) are the experts. Especially for your first facial, put yourself in their hands, let them analyze your skin.
Your skin will feel so fresh and clean and soft.
Though facials don't work wonders, it's something wonderful to do for yourself at least once in a lifetime. Birthday treat? Perfect!
That's my experience in a (big) nutshell. Pros and cons.
Let us know if you decided to go for it!
