Pure aloe vera as a moisturizer

i've tried every moiturizer there is. every moisturizer out there made my skin greasy and broke me out. so fed up. i'm thinking of trying 100% aloe vera as a moisturizer, good idea?

I'm not sure of that. I've only used it pure for it's healing properties.

I like to mix mine with emu oil and it makes a great moisturizer. Calendula is also another great natural moisturizer.

ahhh freacking dove sensetive lotion made my skin very itchy, greasy and red!!! i'm done with moiturizers, this happens with every moisturizer!

Then I would definitely give aloe vera, calendula, or emu oil a try!

I'm using Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel as a moisturizer. I love how it made my skin soft and smooth since I started using it a month ago. Plus I love how pure this is - no chemicals, etc.

I don't see any problems with it if your skin is getting enough moisture from it.

Please post your results after a week or so, sounds like a great idea. I sometime find aloe vera to get sticky.

Jass, initially I find it to be sticky too but after several minutes, it dries off to a matte finish.

Allow me to chime in on the emu oil recommendations! AEA-certified, fully-refined emu oil and non-synthetic Vitamin E oil are the only moisturizers I use on my face and body. They're wonderful and get straight to the point: they work.

Walgreens used to sell, their own personal brand of Aloe Vera Gel that I used to love. It was perfect under my foundation. I have inquired about it.

I use Aloe vera(can be a tad sticky) and I second the calendula!

I have moisturized my face with aloe vera and loved it, but I notice if I apply it too close to the eye area, my eyes sting. Has this happened to anyone else?

by itself it may be ok for combo/oily skin, but probably drying for normal/dry skin

Try using a pure aloe vera gel like the ones sold at Whole Foods or GNC

absolutely! it is a great moisturizer. epicuren skin care makes a good aloe vera gel.
