Hey, I want a microderm/chemical peel so bad and I went to a day spa in my area to speak to an esthician (sp). She told me I would have four series each week and wold see results by the end. She also told me she uses a 5% dose which is better than the 15% a plastic surgeon uses, but I will experience pain the first couple of times. This scares the hell out of me. For those of you who have had one please tell me

1) How much pain?

2) How long does it take to see results

3) Do hyperpig spots disappear

4) can you go to work 24hrs after

Thanks

Hi,

Have you used our search function? I know there are some threads that you could look through in there.

I really think you can save money by doing it yourself at home. There are lots of at-home peel kits you can buy. I do it and am happy with the results. I buy from makeupartistschoice.com.

1) How much pain? - for me it was painless, maybe a slight stinging in the beginning, but nothing to worry about

2) How long does it take to see results? I saw results within a few days after my skin finished peeling

3) Do hyperpig spots disappear? - they disappeared when used in conjunction with microdermabrasion and topical treatments

4) can you go to work 24hrs after? - depending on the strength and percentage of the peel and just your overall skin reaction, you can. Just be sure to lay off the cosmetics and don't forget to moisturize.

Also want to add, be sure you get this done at a dermatologist office or medical spa and not a regular spa.

Good Luck to you :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I haven't had a peel, but I've had 2 microderms so far.

1. It wasn't painful for me at all... It was actually kind of relaxing.

2. My skin was temporarily gorgeous for the week after. I haven't seen really "permanent" results yet. (6 treatments are recommended)

3. I'm not sure about this one.

4. I've gone to the mall just minutes after the treatment. My skin was really shiny, though, and I think next time I might put some MU on before I go somewhere! :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I really want to get a chem. peel, but I'm spending so much on the micro already that I'll just have to wait and see how this goes. I've heard that peels are better for getting rid of redness.

1) How much pain? - it burned quite a bit

2) How long does it take to see results? within a week...

3) Do hyperpig spots disappear? - some

4) can you go to work 24hrs after? - if u don't have a problem looking scaly and red at work

i personally would NEVER do a peel again, except for at-home options that aren't as strong... my skin was really red and peeled a lot.. dealing with that for a week was not worth the benefits to me..

Hmmmmm....... I've been wanting to do a peel also. I'm scared too!! I don't want my face to look worse and I don't want to look like a burnt lizard either. My doctors office has a medical spa so I think I will go there and see what the derm suggests. If any more people get it done, let us know how it went!!

1) How much pain?

MIcro- minimal...felt like i was in a wind storm on a beach...

Peel- burned a little, my percentage was 70% at the derm office

2) How long does it take to see results

mICRO- Isaw results imediately

peel- same..but i was glowing more :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

3) Do hyperpig spots disappear

they disappeared with the other products i use in conjunction with what my doctor told me, but can i tell i had hyperpigmentation real bad from tazorac, and these procedured helped!! * hydroquinone is my new BFF along with Sunblock*

4) can you go to work 24hrs after

I went to a late lunch with my friend and then gym after the chemical peel and can i tell you, my friend and trainer couldn't stop staring at my face :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

let us know what you decide to do :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
