Pregnant fake blonde

Hi everybody,

I just found out I am pregnant and now I don't know what to do about coloring my hair! I have fairly light blonde hair that I have colored myself in the past, so I don't mind doing that, but I really like the salon and I have heard that pregnant ladies should not get their hair colored. I will look very weird if I just let it grow out because my hair is kind of mousy brown. There is a big enough difference between the colored parts and the natural parts that I will feel really ugly if I just let it grow. What kinds of "natural" haircolors are out their for preggy girls and has anyone had any experience?

Help, please !!!

My OB had no problem with highlights as long as they didn't touch the scalp. There are many opinions on hair colouring during pregnancy. There is a product called Herbatint-supposed to be natural but def check with your OB regarding his or her opinion as there is so much conflicting info about colouring during pregnancy.

I agree - I'd talk to your doc first. I'm sure there might be some vegetable-based dyes or something out there that you can use... or at least to get your color back to it's natural state until you have the baby... :icon_wink

I colored my hair before I was pregnant. By my 7th mo. it was falling out. I could pull it out from the middle of my head. I had to get braids for the remainder. Coloring, and perming isn't the best thing. Plus the baby is taking everything out of u anyway, making everything dryer (sp)

Back in the day when nobody really knew it wasn't good to have things done to your hair while you're pregnant... my friends mom had gotten a perm when she was pregnant w/ my friend... within a week her hair was PIN straight... and my friend came out with Curly-curly hair! lol Nobody in their family has curly hair - so they all thought my friend sucked the perm right outta her mom! lol

they have haircolor w/o any ammonia in them or a semi permanent haircolor so you don't have roots. but well the semi permanent i think only darkens hair. but if you do color your hair by yourself i would watch out, some people when they're pregnant the haircolor didn't turn out right. b/c of your hormones. i didn't color mine when i was pregnant b/c of that.
