Hi

I just started getting into hair and makeup. Well I despise my hair. After i take a shower I air dry it. It turns into this big poofy pom pom. I saw this video and this girl has like perfect hair. its straight and just a little wavy and not POOFY WHAT SO EVER. I want straight, non-frizzy and poofy hair. I use pantene anti-breakage shampoo and conditioner every night. I straighten my hair everyday and I know it's bad for your hair but that is the only way for it not to be poofy. I'm also trying to grow it out. So any advice?

I am the QUEEN of massively frizzy and out of control hair! Here's my 2 cents:

A)Quit washing your hair everyday. I promise- you're hair will be calmer with some natural oils in it. I wash mine maybe every 3 days or so. Use a dry shampoo if you start getting too oily. So long as you weren't out mud wrestling and the like, you don't need to wash every day.

B)There are many hair masks available- try some out! I like them on my "at-home spa nights"

C)Even though some disagree with this, it helped me in Texas- Rinse your hair with cold water after you've washed/conditioned it.

D)I have been using a serum (I found it at ulta...can't remember the name but there are lots to choose from) and it helps. I apply it to kinda-moist hair and it tames a lot of the friz for me.

E)I also use a leave-in spray conditioner mist ( The organix kind, I believe...has argan oil),...Just don't overdo it or it'll be gross.

F) Use a heat protectant spray when you're styling!

G)Argan (sp?) oil helped me some, too.

H) Try some wave-spray to tame your hair and let it be natural. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> Not being heat-styled everyday is good for it!

Just sort of play around with these things, see what works for you. Best of luck! Try not to fry your hair off!!

If you don't care about silicones and parabens, I recommend the entire Argan Oil line from Organix. The ones in the blue bottle, not the new whipped ones in the tan bottle. It's my favorite shampoo and conditioner ever and the best hair oil I've found. I have long, blonde, frizzy hair and using all 3 together makes the biggest difference of anything I've tried. But, like slinka said, go light on the oil. I spray it on my hands, rub them together, and rub them on my hair, then rub all my hair like I'm shampooing it real quick, and that distributes the oil all over. Otherwise, the Frizz line by Living Proof. Shampoo, conditioner, and something else I think is a serum. They'll send you samples if you e-mail them with a specific hair problem. Also, I use a wide-tooth comb, not a hairbrush.

I completely forgot about the hairbrush thing- I just assume all people with my type of hair just knows, lol. But yes! Do NOT use the standard hairbrush. Oy!

Some people like poofy hair, special care has to be taken. oil your hair before washing.

Conditioning it , eat healthy.
