Hey guys. This may have been asked before, but I'm not sure so I'll ask it now. With my skin, all I have a problem with really is my pimples. I always have them! There has never been a time since puberty, or since I first noticed pimples, that they haven't been on my face. I'm 20 (just in case you were wondering how old I am, to get an idea o fhow my skin is or should be). I use Neutrogena products. I've been using that brand for awhile now, and I always tell myself that it works, but the pimples never go away. The pimples all look the same, just small and red. So of course it's noticeable! Sometimes there are times when I say 'Alright! Not as many pimples'. But then of course, they come on back. And right for my skin, I have a lot. I always have some on my forhead (I do have bangs and I do put product on it-but mostly just heat styler spray), in between my eybrows, and on my cheeks, and chin. So bascially everywhere. I also have a Clean and Clean moisturizer, but I don't use it everyday. My skin type is...well I'm not sure. I think it's combination. Or oily. It's hard to tell. Like in the morning sometimes my face, near my nose is dry, but the other parts aren't I don't think. So I just say Oily. Anyway, sorry this is so long! I don't know if anyone else has this problem, or have any advice on products (or brands) what I could try. I mean, my pimples aren't THAT bad, since I'm used to it, but it'll be nice to at least once not have any on my face. So any kind of advice would be really appreciated. Thanks guys!

love,

Rachael

Hi Rachael,

Sometimes Pimple breakout is associated to hormone balance and inner body health.

Drink more water through out the days (At least 2 litres) and eat more high fibre good. This can help you cleansing the toxin in your body. Take some health supplements like black currant seed oil or borage seed oil. Their higher content of GPA (Omega 6) can help to balance your hormone in your body.

These are simple natural ways to treat pimple problem.

Alternatively, if you are looking for some skin care product. I have been using DR's Secret and it has helped me to reduce the breakout. You can check out www.drsecret2u.com

Hope it helps & Have a great day.

I agree with wellnessorigin on that you should drink tons of water and take your vitamins (i take flaxseed). It definitely helps, but it takes time to see the difference.

Also, I wash my face with Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleanser in the morning and at night. I rub AVC (apple cider vinegar) with a q tip on offending areas and wait for about 5 minutes. It burns a little. After that, I apply that Queen Helene's Mint Julepe Mask on those individual areas. You will feel a little bit of burning and tingling. That's ok. I go to sleep with this stuff on. When I wake up in the morning, I wipe the mask off. My skin looks alot better. I have never been able to use the Mint Julep mask on its own. I am only able to see results when I use it with the AVC.

Well..I guess it's worth a try. Most of the stuff is dirt cheap except for maybe the cleanser. After throwing so much money in expensive acne products down the drain..if feels good to have a regimen so cheap actually work for me.

Hi Rachael! Welcome to MUT! I'm Melissa from Atlanta.

It sounds to me like you've got combination skin.

For your forehead I would recommend covering the skin on your forehead with a tissue, paper towel, hand towel or washcloth as you spray any hair product. This will keep from clogging the pores on your forehead.

For the rest of your face, be sure to use an oil free moisturizer. For the rest of your skincare look towards products designed specifically for combination skin.

I primarily use drugstore products. I've been very happy with Aveeno and I also use some products from Walmart's Equate line. The brand comparison is listed on the product, so you can see what it would be comparable to in brands like Oil of Olay, Neutrogena, etc.

As far as quick clearing of blemishes, Mario Badescu's Drying Cream is absolutely fabulous. You can go to the website and get free samples.

I also agree with the importance of drinking water (which has tons of other benefits).

Hope this helps!

I second the Mario Badecu's Drying Cream.....it's the best spot treatment I've ever used. I'm kind of in the same postion as you, I have tried many different things. The drugstore stuff never helped much. I've tried Proactiv and I'm currently on a new acne regimen, which has reduced my acne A LOT, but I still have a few pimples on my face. www.exposedskincare.com <<find it there. Have you tried chemical peels? I think glycolic and salylic acid peels help to reduce acne, as well as other skin imperfections.
