- Alpha-, beta-, and poly-hydroxy acids, whose sloughing effects bring healthier, more radiant skin cells to the surface.
- Light-diffusing particles, which soften the appearance of light reflected from the skin, giving skin a luminous quality.
- Micronized zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, Parsol 1789 (also known as avobenzone). These three ingredients are the best ones to look for in a sunscreen because they block both types of sunlight: UVA and UVB rays.
- Vitamin C, which has been shown to have a photo-protective effect on the skin.
