I'm 23 and have struggled with acne since I was a teen.  My skin is also extremely sensitive and I have pretty noticeable hyperpigmentation.  I feel like I've tried so many different products that will either not work at all or work for a short period of time and then lose effectiveness.  I've been eyeing the Philosophy On a Clear Day line and the Peter Thomas Roth Blemish Buster kit.  I can't decide which one I should get!!  What do you all think?!

I am not familiar with any of these lines, sorry!

But make sure the products you choose include a gentle cleanser (no alcohol, menthol or other irritating, drying ingredients), a leave on product with 2% salicylic acid to prevent breakouts (that has the correct pH for effective exfoliation to occur and again does not contain irritants. Salicylic acid is also an anti-irritant, which is good cause you said you have sensitive skin. If the product contains additional skin-calming and/or moisturizing ingredients then that´s another plus!) and a benzol peroxide product (5% should be enough since you have sensitive skin) if you need a spot treatment. A mild, basic moisturizer like CeraVe or Cetaphil is also great if you need it.

Instead of going for the entire acne-line from a company you can check out the individual product ingredient lists and choose the individual best products.

Wish I could help but I haven't tried either one.  Good info from Andi, should help with whichever you decide.

I was just at the Clinique counter and I noticed they have a new line out especially for redness and blemishes have you heard about this. I have blackheads in every pore all my life and since using the cleansers have seen night and day results that everyone noticed.

To help with your two choices I'd say philosophy I use there body washes as I have very sensitive skin and get rashes from trying out new brands. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I'm not sure about PTR's acne line but I've used PTR's unwrinkle serum and it does fade my laugh lines within a month. Too bad I gotta stop using it now as I'm pregnant and it has Vit A in the ingredient list. This is more for your info about the brand than the specific product you're considering :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
