It should be as it is based on diatomaceous earth which is usually a fine ground, more like a clay than grains IYSWIM - you could just purchase DE for cheap and mix with your regular cleanser tho. If you want a non-abrasive exfoliation method, have you considered light lactic acid peels? Lactic acid is naturally found in the skin, hydrates as it exfoliates and leaves the skin silky soft!
