Hi Swedgal! I use Philosophy and I have for a long time. I kind of grew with the company, using new products for different phases of a woman's skin as you go along. I am now using the latest items for mature or aging skin, the Miracle Worker products which make things simple, fast and easy but are the most potent and technoligically advanced, addressing lines, wrinkles, loss of firmness, dark or sun spots, melasma and generally all the things that happen as you age and helping to slow, reverse or even stop (for awhile at least) the problems older women face.
I doubt that you would need something so potent at this time, unless you are getting to pre. peri, or menopausal age.
When I first started out I used the basic line. All ages use Purity cleanser which is a nice, nonlathering but nonoily/greasy cleanser that removes ALL your makeup, even eye. I just put it on my face and massage it in before even using water. I make sure to really get the makeup broken down, then I add water, massage some more and rinse clean. You can use a little more and go over your wet face and rub it all over just to make sure it is clean, but I find usually just the once is enough. (you can also use a microfiber face cloth to wipe off the cleanser before you rinse, to get some exfoliating). (Then after you dry off, you can use a serum if you want. There are some for adult skin that breaks out or Vit C, or a couple of others but you don't have to)
After your face is clean and dry, just apply the basic moisture, Hope in a Jar. They make it in regular, or for dry sensitive or Hope in a Bottle for those with acne. They are oil free and have good things like lactic acid (a water drawing acid), betaglucan, and more, even one with spf, they also have lavendar essential oil extract in them for soothing and healing and that is the scent it has. Then go on to the Hope in a tube, you can use it on your lips and undereyes. There are other facial products/masks you can use a couple of times a week also, so if you want to try the whole basic starter kit, you can get the Makeup Optional kit or another one that the consultant might think would suit you better. But the Basic start for everyone is usually: Purity cleanser, Hope in a Jar, and Hope in a Tube for the basic no frills start. Go to where it is sold or you can get in touch with customer service and they will help if you have specific needs, like adding the MicroDelivery step Vit C peel. It is my FAV, leaves skin amazing! I hope that helps.
