Ive noticed for a few months I have 3 little patches on my shoulder/arm, its like flakey skin and even though I moisturise alot its still there, I use self tan and even that doesnt help, it makes it worse, when I exfoliate and bathe afterwards it goes bright red like I've been burnt or sommet its really weird and annoying!

Should I ignore it or have a doctor look at it and maybe reccomend some cream?

It only bothers me cus when I wear sleeveless tops its white patches and looks horrible

It is probably nothing to worry about. Have you tried creams like Eucerin or something similar? That tends to work really well for people since it is nice and thick. However, if you use it for a while, and the patches aren't better, go to a derm and see what he says. Are the patches itchy? If they are, hydrocortizone and Lanacane are very good.

I have had this patch on my hand, very dry, itchy skin and turns red often, and it has been really bothering me for around 6 months now! I have yet to go to the derm..I should!

a trip to the derma would`nt hurt though

just in case .. you never know ?

it's probably nothing but i'd go at the derm see what he says about it and what creams he can prescribe you.

if it's red and itchy, i suggest Uriage Cu Zn (i use it for my eczema, but it's made for atopic skins in general). Eucerin is also a great suggestion !

I would suggest you go to your dermatologist for treatment! I'm not a doctor but it could be Prosiasis the way your describe it. The lesions are round, dry patches covered with coarse, silvery scales. While not contagious, it can be spread by irritating it

If its eczema (sometimes caused by allergy or internal disorder) It is an inflammation of the skin sometimes dry or moist lesions. It might itch, or burn and is painful

sounds like eczema.

i have it on a few parts of my body, its really rough, red, and always itches.

i went to a doctor and got a cream that works awsome for it.

its not itchy or anything just very dry ive noticed abit on my chest too, its just rough dry patches, i'll have to try something for eczema, i used to get it on my hands but that cleared up years ago

i know this sounds weird, but if you're looking to try some creams before hitting the derm's office, try burt's bees diaper ointment.

it's all natural. after exfoliating once, my cheeks burned and turned pinkish red. i put the ointment on (it's a white pasty look) at night and it immediately calm my skin.

the ladies at mua gave this rave reviews for using it on the face.

i hope you find something that works for you.

I heard that if you have broken blood vessels you can put some ice then cut a green grape in half and apply it to the skin. It might help if you have broken vessels. For blotchy skin maybe go to the doctor and have his prescribe/reccommend a cream for you.

Ditto! I'd check with a Derm to be sure exactly what it is.
