I've heard that pantene is bad for your hair because it causes a wax buildup. Is this true?

I dont know about that, but my aunt (in law) who is a hair designer told me that Pantene is not good for the hair. I dont know why? but I dont use it because it makes my hair lifeless.

I've heard that it's bad for your hair too. I don't use it just because I don't really like the way it smells.

I've heard the wax rumors too but Pantene nontheless manages my hair better than anything out there I've yet tried--so I'll keep using it, while I keep trying out new products.

Same with me!! I've tried loads of shampoos but only pantene works for me the best.....:icon_chee Yes I've heard that pantene is bad because it has a higher ph thingi...I dunno if thats completely true though.........:icon_roll

i'll use pantene and any other kind of shampoo / conditioner out there. i've also heard that it builds up wax on your strands. true or not. it makes for a nice sheen!

I've heard that, too! I've also heard that about Herbal Essences, but your hair is dead anyway....so what's the difference. If it works for you, go with it!

It does have a lot of wax... which over time can leave your hair wieghed down, dull and sorta lifeless. You can use it, just use a clarifying shampoo at least once a week to keep it from building up. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Yeah, I use pantene pretty often but I'm looking for a good clarifying shampoo. Are there any that you recommend?

This is so funny; I'd never heard of the wax thing with Pantene, but it did make my hair gummy so I stopped using it. I agree with Janelle about the Suave clarifying shampoo. The kind I have is supposed to be a knockoff of Rusk. It smells great and works great and was very cheap.

I used to use this all the time until I found out it was what was causing my hair to break & dry out. Supposedly it is one of the worst shampoo because the PH is so high.

I use Pantene every day and then once a week I use the Pantene clarifying shampoo.

I switch to another brand when I get bored but I always come back to Pantene and I don't have any trouble so far.

That so totally sounds like me. I try other stuff fairly often but always end up back on Pantene! It's the only stuff that gives me that super slippery hair feel in the shower and detangles my hair better than anything I have ever tried. My hair stylist always freaks out when I tell her what I use! LOL!

Pantene just came out with this new product - one is for frizzy hair and the other is for hair breakage. I tried the breakage formula but supposedly it takes a month to see results.
