Owen Wilson has given his first interview since his suicide attempt – to his longtime friend, director Wes Anderson.

In the interview, to be posted online Friday at midnight, Wilson talks with the director of his latest film, The Darjeeling Limited, as part of the MySpace Artist on Artist series, according to USA Today.

Wilson has been mum about the night when cops were called to his home for what a police report labeled an "attempt suicide" in August.

At the time, Wilson asked for privacy with a statement saying, "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."

There is no word on whether Wilson will address his recent troubles.

In September, at the Venice Film Festival, Anderson said that his friend was "doing well." He added: "When he's ready he's going to speak for himself much better than anyone else could. He has a very good way with words."

Wilson and Anderson have worked together on multiple projects, including Bottle Rocket and The Royal Tenenbaums, which they co-wrote, and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.

I thought at the time that that suicide attempt or whatever it may have been was really odd. He didn't seem like that type of person at all. I like him as an actor, I've heard lots of good things about him so I hope he is alright and recovering well and everything

After watching a few of the movies Owen Wilson has done with Wes Anderson, underlies some storyline of battling depression. For those who saw the royal tenenbaum's, his bro Luke Wilson plays Richie the guy who tries to commit suicide after finding out that Eli (Owen Wilson) was becoming a drug addict, and Margot (Gwenyth Paltrow) was having a real life, and that he was the only one who hadn't changed at all.

I'm not sure if any of you have seen Bottle Rocket. BTW, great movie! There's a scene in the movie (don't remember where) but there's a scene where Anthony and Dignan (Luke and Owen Wilson) in the hotel room and you can clearly see a bunch of pills sorted out on the table. Can someone confirm this with me? lol

But yeah...I've always knew Owen was hiding something and using the storyline to project his feelings. I just never thought he'd actually "attempt" it. I wish him all the best in recovering!

just goes to show you that you can never judge these people who spend half their lives in front of the tv. it's just an act
