I`m sort of making a research(for myself) on organic skin care products. And I would really like to know

from those of you who use it, What can you tell about organic products? Especially, does it anti allergic, or is it individual and one can still develop any sort of allergic reaction to it? Do you see any positive differences in your skin condition after turning to organic products? Is it possible to mix organic products with non-organic ones(like, for instance, using organic cream with regularl sun protective creme, or applying non-organic serum (althouth consisting of natural components) before organic day cream)?

Sorry for so many questions . I just really like to learn more about organic products and their usage.

Thanks in advance,

I do.

On a regular basis i use a moisturizer, floral water, essential oils, as well as shower gels and shampoos (actually the dual formulas to save money). Organic, according to the label, means different things : a process respectful of man and the environment, the use of a maximum of authorized plants, no use of certain products like conservative, parabens... and the respect of animals as well (no product leading to an animal's death as well as no test on them).

I don't like parabens, and i don't like silicones, and the moisturizers i've tried so far work better than all those i've tried from the non organic brands. This is why i reach first for my organic/healthfood store before the pharmacy.

So i would say based on the fact people usually react to chemical products you have logically less chance of getting an allergic reaction from an organic product, but you can still get one. In my country though i always find a tube in display for test, or i ask for samples.

I recommend Weleda, Logona and Lavera, they're the cheapest brands you can find, no need to spend a fortune to get good stuff.

You can use organic stuff like your non organic ones, there's no difference in terms of use. You can definitely use your regular sunscreen on top, i do this on a regular basis.

I just bought aan organic lip balm.. Yes to Carrots.. C Me Smile Lip Butter.. Melon flavored.. Really nice and smooth..

Actually, I do use and like Weleda`s Almond `s moisturizer and oil, thanks to your reccomendations, magosienne. I`m on my third or4 forth tube already. After my recent attempt to switch to some other brand, I`ve got such a majorallergic reaction in a form of break outs that I think I`ll stay with Weleda for a while. But Does Weleda belong to organic brands? I thought there is a difference between just natural products (as based on natural ingridients) and organic ones?

Latelyt I`m really inclined to think that after starting use more of natural face care (jojoba oil, weleda`s almond oil and almond cream)my skin feels and looks much better.

I love their moisturizer ! Actually the hydrating one, the cream was just too rich for my skin.

There are different labels with different protocols, technically Weleda respects the BDIH label, which demands natural products, and if possible their organic version. I tend to trust that label since it's an old one

Yes I use organic products, my skincare routine is very basic and simple (cleanser, some hydrosol and few drops of oil). I prefer organic (or natural) lipbalms, they work great.

I'm trying to let Lush and Juice Beauty take over my skincare regimen. I use the Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Serum all the time, it has really helped get my skin together! I'm using Lush Enzymon moisturizer.

thank you for your replies, ladies!

these days, my skin`s behaving really badly--I`ve developed some skin allergy "thanks" to one local spf cream. Now my face is full of some tiny red pimples---brrrr!!!

So, obviously, I won`t dare toching any new products right now---if I could, I wouldn`t put anything on my face, but since that`s impossible--my skin would "die" without moisture -- I`m putting Weleda mendal oil+moisture cream combination.

I`m also taking Loratadine medicine (atihistamine for the treatment of allergy, including face allergy) the 5th day already, but still, no big improvement , maybe a lit one.

Have anyone had any similar reaction to any cosmetic product? It would be really helpfull ul if you share your unsucessfull experiences with any of cosmetic products and how did you handle it!

Went back to my beloved Weleda !

I'm currently using Juice Organics' tinted moisturizer and although the smell of carrots took some getting used to, I think overall it's been doing my skin good. I recently switched to organic skincare and I did notice a change about a week later. For night I'm using Befine's rice moisturizer and as an eye cream I'm using...err...this CVS brand I can't recall at the moment (but I don't like it, I'm thinking about trying Juice Organics' eye treatment--what do you think? better suggestions?). I use a normal alcohol-free toner. I bought Kiehls rose water online so I'm waiting for that one to come in so I can change to it (what category does Kiehls go under? not organic, right?). In the morning I use a normal spf 30 eye cream (Dr. Denese) and a high SPF (50) with PA++ protection sunscreen and I don't find them contradicting.

I use a regular (i mean non organic) sunscreen, first because this sunscreen works with my skin, and second because organic sunscreens are more expensive and i rarely find SPF30. I currently use Skinfood's moisturizer, that brand isn't organic but uses natural products, so close enough

It works fine that way.

For toner, i suggest you use floral water. I like rose, with hazel, but my favorite right now is lavender, i have combination skin and it's perfect !

Unless you need specific treatment for your eye area (wrinkles, dark circles, more moisture) i suggest you use your face moisturizer. I find an eyecream isn't a musthave, but i must admit i like my skincare regimen to be very simple, and back when i had an eyecream i often forgot to use it

No but I am thinking about making the switch. I have been eyeing that Decleor line for a minute.

I use 'Love at First Touch' it has no artifical preservatives, all natural ingredients and feautres Emu Oil in all the products

I've tried several organic lines, but I have to admit the cosmetic quality of the products is usually inferior to what's available mainstream.

I wanna make the switch, but I only know about organic raw products and home made stuff... I need to do some more research.

Thanks for the advice ladies

Weleda, Logona and Lavera are the cheapest brands, and also old, so i tend to trust those brands. I find they work just as well, even better, than the regular stuff, but i guess it's subjective.

I do!

It's important to realize that your skin is an organ also!  It's actually the LARGEST organ on you body.  We have to care what we put on it.  I work for a skin care company  'Raw Essentials' by Carol Alt. I have always been a cautious of what I ate and put in my body (which is how I became a fan of Carol Alt who is a Raw foodist!) but it wasn't until recently I realized how important WHAT syou put on your body is also.  Our skin soaks up all the chemicals from products and it gets absrbed into our system.  Carol's products contain all certified raw good for you ingredients!

I had no idea Yes to... was considered Organic, but I do use the Carrots Eye Can C Eye Contour Cream. I'm also a big fan of Caudalie - the Gentle Cleanser (Fall/Spring/Winter - too heavy in humid summer), the Invigorating Masque, as well as the 1st Wrinkle Serum & Eye & Lip Contour Cream from the Pulpe Vitaminee line. ETA: Kibio's Exfoliating Cream Scrub also isn't half-bad. Like a more gentle, and effective St. Ives.
