hi ladies,

so, here's the deal:

i take evening primrose oil capsules, omega 3 capsules, and multivitamins. i am a water fiend, do not smoke, and exfoliate regularly, so as far as doing everything i can to keep my skin in tip-top shape, i'm there. HOWEVER, i'm on the hunt for a new body lotion, because lately everything i have tried as left me either too dry, too slimy, too scented, and basically unsatisfied.

the ideal lotion for me would have the following qualities:

- very moisturizing (as i have quite dry skin)

- lightly scented or no scent at all

- no shimmer / bronze effect

- preferably inexpensive (though i do know that sometimes, quality costs more!)

- and the most important of all; i cannot STAND a lotion that leaves me feeling as if there is a greasy film over my skin, (examples of lotions that have done this for me: vaseline problem skin therapy, nivea creme, the body shop body butters, etc.)

the one lotion i have tried that seemed to do some good for my skin was the yves rocher organic silky body cream, but at 20$ a small jar, i was hoping there would be a cheaper alternative.

i'm searching for something quite light feeling on the skin, yet something that will leave me hydrated and very soft. i know these lotions exist and i'm sure that you all must have some suggestions for me

thanks in advance !

I really like the Johnson & Johnson 24 hour moisture body lotion. It's not greasy at all and I find it to be quite hydrating. It also comes in a bunch of different scents, but none of them are heavy or irritating by any means.

It's not exactly cheap, but i think you could find Weleda's calendula body lotion suitable. It's in the baby range, but adults can use it too. It sinks in really well, and fast, and the only scent comes from the ingredients

.

You can also try sweet almond oil, the trick is in not applying too much and it will sink in fast.

i've used olive oil as a moisturizer before, is it quite the same thing ?

i will definitely check out both of the suggested lotions, thank-you !!!

Olive oil is heavier than sweet almond oil. Hempseed oil is also nice too. I prefer jojoba and evening primrose mixed right now. Jojoba and sweet almond was mine a couple of months ago. If you want a lotion, get an emulsifier like gelmaker from Lotioncrafter.com and make your own lotion. 68% water and 2% gelmaker and 30% oils. You can add essential oils for fragrance or skin-safe fragrance oils.

gold bond ultimate skin lotion. the lotion is as thick as the cream and it is very moisturizing. they have a healing lotion, a soothing lotion and a smoothing lotion. they are all good and none of them have a heavy perfumy smell. they are also not as expensive because not only do they last a long time they are a drug store item.

I am in love with Hemp Body Moisturizer. It makes my skin feel so soft and moisturized, all day long. You can get it from Sally Beauty Supply for around $8.

You should try in love with bodycare rejuvenating lotion. It's awesome!! It's all natural and does wonders for my skin. I think you would love it based on what you described. It has a mushroom blend in it which is like the new miracle cure, if you read about medicinal mushrooms they are finding them to prevent/treat cancer, help in anti aging and all other skin conditions, ect. I just wanted to mention that because it sold me on it

It is light, non oily, moisturizing and leaves skin very soft...along with the healthy skin benefits!
