Olive oil, the gift of youth!
After doing tons of research into natural beauty recipes, one common ingredient popped up several times in many recipes. Olive oil. You can incorporate it into just about any of your beauty rituals and reap the benefits that high end skin care products promise, not only naturally, but for a fraction of the cost!

Olive oil is also a rich source of antioxidants, which helps slow down the aging process, combat cellular degeneration and protect against age-accelerating free radicals. The benefits go on and on!

Ok, so who doesn't want younger looking skin, naturally and inexpensive? My challenge to you all is to take 1 or more of the recipes or tips below and combine it into your beauty regimen. Or even better, grab a bottle of olive oil (extra virgin is a bit better) and try all these on a rainy weekend and see what they can do for your skin! Good luck ladies!!!!

Day of Beauty:
Facial Cleanser:
2 tbs. Dark brown sugar (I like dark because it doesn't melt as quick as light brown sugar)
1 tbs Olive oil
Mix in a small bowl. Apply to face in a circular motion for 1-2 minutes. Yes, it will feel reallllllly greasy, but once you rinse with warm water and pat dry with a towel, your skin feel feel softer that you can imagine!!!!!
You can also scrub your lips with the mixture to exfoliate.

Makeup remover.
While cleansing with the olive oil and sugar mixture, take a small amount of the oil and apply to closed eyes. It removes ail traces of makeup and protects the delicate eye area.

Moisturizing bath.
Add three tablespoons to running bath water. Mix up a batch of the brown sugar scrub and exfoliate your feet, hands and body in the bath. Your skin with be super silky when done! Just be careful if using in the shower ( My hubby found out the hard way after I used this that it can be slippery! lol

Hair conditioner.
Now I must admit, I've done a olive oil deep conditioner and wasn't as pleased as others have been. But I think this was because I only used the oil and not a detangler after (my hair is double processed and long. Not a pretty site trying to comb that out! lol)
But I did try adding a tablespoon of oil to my conditioner while I was in the bath and my hair was so shiny afterwards!

After all the above treatments, you shouldn't need to add any moisturizer to your skin. But for dry spot and lips, rub a little oil into rough patches.

And that's it! Trust me, try it one day and you'll be amazed at how soft your skin will feel. My absolute favorite is the facial cleanser sugar scrub!!!!!! Hope you all enjoy and share your thoughts.

Brown sugar is probably a little more coarse than white sugar and is slightly wet so it won't dissolve as quickly. Whenever I use olive oil scrubs (I use sea salt tho it's a little rougher so use sugar if you have sensitive skin) the salt/sugar melts fairly quickly. There can be other reasons but this is what I've found to be true.

Yep, The melting factor.

I've tried light brown sugar and white sugar and they melt much faster than the dark brown sugar. Also I loveeee the way the brown sugar smells

Also a note... you don't need to add very much oil to the sugar, the measurements are aprox. I found if you have too much oil and the sugar is swimming in the oil, the sugar will melt faster.

Let's get scrubing! lol

At work we sell tons of olive oil hair products, but they're typically geared toward ethnic hair, so I've never tried any. But there's shampoos, conditioners, treatments, deep conditioning treatments, hot oils, moisturizers, relaxers, sheen sprays, wrap lotion, the list goes on and on.

I love olive oil.. I used Bibo's Olive a little olive oil lotion on my belly w/ both my pregnancies... I lOVED it ...

I love olive oil aswell, I've been putting some in my bath for a long time now haha my grandmas secret to having some great skin considering her age

Ive tried the olive oil for conditioning my CURLY friz prone hair and it was soft ect buttt it looked too shiny for my liking so I might try to add it with a mild conditioner. Thanks for the tips, the tip on using it for eye make-up remover and a scrub is just great !

I used extra virgin olive oil in my skincare regime on summer... I have never had such beautiful skin: no blemishes, my scars faded away and my skin looked smooth and flawless... Then came the cold winter and harsh winds from North.

I still use it and my skin is still in better condition but not as good as in summer *waiting for summertime*.

I used to add a teaspoon of olive oil to my shampoo and it worked great if your shampoo was drying to begin with.

I'm one of the unlucky few whose skin get easily irrated...I tried olive oil as a hair mask...and my scalp broke out real bad, with puss oozing out and all that...pretty gross and painful...anyways, being the persistent little twit I am, I went ahead and tried OCM with EVOO (I was abit more 'careful' and only tried it on my left cheek), and tada! I got the worst cyctic acne ever on the left side of my face. It sucks so much, because where I come from Olive Oil is *the* basic staple for beautiful skin (and used alot in local cuisines), everyone from young to old uses it. I feel so left out
