i bought this today because i wanted to try it out because my mother in law uses olay from when she was young and her skin is flawless anyway thats not the question.. The question is Does it contain uv protection because before i bought it i went to there site olay.com.au and it says it does but now after buying it doesnt mention it says uv protection this is the ingredent please tell me if any of these ingredent means it contains sunscreen inside

Water, Glycerin, Isohexadecane, Niacinamide, Dimethicone, Isopropyl Isosteartate, Polyacrylamide, Zinc Oxide, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract, Sorbitan Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Sucrose Polycottonseedate, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Stearyl Alcohol, Titanium Dioxide, Dimeticonol, Benzyl Alcohol, Ethylparaben, Laureth-7, Propylparaben, Disodium EDTA, PEG-100 Stearate, Stearic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Methylparaben, Oleth 3-Phosphate, Ammonium Polyacrylate, Vitamin B3, Pro-Vitamin B5, Vitamin E.

If I am not mistaken Zinc Oxide is a sunscreen ingredient. So it does have SPF protection.

If that product contained UV Protection, it would be listed in the Active Ingredients( like the ASAP SPF Moisturiser), but there is no Active Ingredients listed, just the normal ingredient list.

I looked at the ingredients for the Total Effects UV Protection on the Olay Australia site, and there was no Active Ingredients listed there either.

My advice: when looking to get a product with UV protection/SPF protection/UVA protection/UVB protection, make sure there the Active Ingredients are listed. Active Ingredients will be listed on top of the normal ingredient list.

Hope that helps

Titanium dioxide is generally used in sunscreens too, isn't it? I'm allergic to Olay, so I don't even look at their products anymore

Titanium dioxide and Zink oxide are mineral sunscreen agents that protect against both UVA and UVB rays.

Zinc Oxide is a sunscreen ingredient but it may not have a high enough % to protect your skin. Unless it says spf 15, etc. it may not be an effective sunscreen.
