Hello!

I have some mild scarring on my right cheek. The scars are shallow -- kind of like "scarred pores".

I'm 18 years old and want to purchase Olay's microdermabrasion kit.

I know that microdermabrasion can *possibly* reduce the appearance of scarring but my question is, would this be permanent? Or would my skin just return to how it once was if I happened to stop using this treatment?

AHAs in chemical peels can permanently reduce the appearance of scars so could the AHA(s) in Olay do the same?

I think microdermabrasion helps but you also need something that heals the skin from the inside out. I too have some shallow scarring and started using microdermabrasion (Epidermx) and Silkia camellia oil a few months back, and I can see a difinite change in my scarring. I have the feeling that the oil is helping as much as the microderm if not more.

I think AHAs only help with surface blemish marks, not indented scarring.

microderm and AHAs cannot hurt you... however I think olay's is a waste of money. I'd rather buy 30% gycolic acid peels online and pure microdermabrasion crystals for a lot cheaper.

I use Olay Regenerist ..but..I really don't have much scaring..but I do like the way it makes my skin feel and look..

I use Epidermx. It works really well. I was using Philosphy but I like Epidermx much better and it is cheaper.

I love Olay Microderm. It leaves my skin so incredibly soft afterward. I do it 1x week, sometimes 2-- thats enough to get great results
