I have oily skin but for a long time now everytime i get out of the shower my skin on my face is dry .on my forehead my nose.....around my mouth.....its dry.....im guessing it the soap....when i have makeup on and when i take a shower i just take the soapand crub my face and im thinking that why my face gets dryed up.....but i also dothat even when i dont wear makeup....but i have to clean my face with something when im in the shower i dont like just water to wash me off......So when my face is dry when i get out i always put johnsons baby lotion or age defying daily renewal cream by olay.......but i mostly put that one on......

is there a loyion for faces to help with dry skin...any reccomendations? :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

you have a combo skin like me

my skin is oily but in the size of my nose its very dry

stay away from toners with alchol

i use mary key velocity and its great for me

Try an oil free moisturize like Neutrogena. That's what my dermatologist recommended, as I had done a lot of damage to "what I thought was dry skin". It turned out I had comb skin and was using the wrong products.

i use acne pads(noxema) and i know that has alot of alcohol but even when i didnt use them my face was still dry and noxema cleansing cream but that doesnt have alcohol..........its not bad as i use to have it...but i get a bit dry after the shower :/

You might also try washing your face with something besides the same soap you use on your body. Those many times have harsh detergents in them that really aren't made for use on your face. Try a cleanser made specifically for your face, then try a good oil free moisturizer. Neutrogena makes some very good products in both.

ditto on that. i'm currently using Neutrogena Deep Clean(the 2 into 1 version), it's really soft for the skin. it contains kaolin and green clay.

also, try using a different daycream, something made for dry combination skins(or maybe yours is simply dehydrated ?). i got one from Bioderma, but i'm sure you can find other brands.

Try ditching the soap for a start, I agree with what the others have suggested. I would also recomment a realy gentle exfoliator as well to get rid of any flakiness and help your moisturizer sink in better.
