it's an everyday thing and it ruins the way I look and feel.

1.) oily skin. first of all it looks really ugly and makes my skin all shiny and it also makes me feel really dirty even after i just washed my face. i use shine control moisturizer, oil blotting sheets and oil control powder. yet still 30 minutes after i do all of this my face is oily and ugly. especially if i go out. why? i thought acne was bad but no, this is worst. help me fix it, please. would a complete line of oil/shine control products such as clearasil oil control or biore shine control help, along with using oil control makeup?

Ugh, I have the same problem, I have tried tons of products and NOTHING has made a bit of difference! Blotting sheets are my miracle product -- at least with them, I can control the oil, even though I can't stop it! But I have tried Biore Shine-Control Cleanser, Sally Hansen Cornsilk mattifier (which I heard great reviews for), Clinac OC Oil Control Gel (recommended by my dermatologist, but did nothing), plus several matte and oil-control kinds of makeup. I have also tried a lot of various acne medications and treatments (prescription and OTC) -- some of them did work to clear up my acne, but they never helped the oily skin.

However, a lot of girls on this site have had good luck by decreasing the number of products they use -- when you use too many products, sometimes your skin doesn't know how to react and it can get oilier and/or more prone to acne. Go ahead and keep looking for new products, but just stick to 1-3 products that you feel are really essential and are actually helping!

I've also heard drinking lots of water and eating healthy will help.... I am a bad girl though and don't eat as healthy as I should... I've also heard clay masks are good for oil control, I've only tried the Queen Helene Mint Julupe mask which so many girls rave about, and it didn't help either.

I do have a lot of info about acne (and a little about oily skin) in my notepad if you are interested, just click the link in my signature!

Hi i know what you mean try a clay mask 2 thru 3 times a week.Use a gentle face cleanser with lactic acid try to use a moisterizer with vitamins thats oil free or with very little oil.Try to exercise and steam your face for 15 min then follow with a clay mask with kaolin and bentonite clay.I hope this helps.Good luck

Or you can try Asepso soap i put a thread too.My cousin had super oily skin with acne now his skin is flawless.

what you may want to avoid is drying the skin out too much, because then you skin will just want to produce more oil to replace the oil you're stripping. the good thing about oil production is that it keeps your skin supple so it doesn't wrinkle as quickly, so there are benefits. what you want is to normalize your skins oil production. what type of regime are you following currently?

i too have oily skin especially on hot and humid day in Dallas!i made sure i always bring some Tea tree oil blotting paper from Body Shop....and don't overwash your face, twice a day is enough.

yep ... a clay mask will work wonders for your skin. I like Got2Be Pure Intent Clay Mask, $3 @ the d/s

I have oily skin as well and Ive tried the the clay mask and it worked ok but then it dried out my skin. So now I have oily skin and small wrinkles on my forehead. I think I used one from St Ives.

Hi! If I were you, I would use a very gentle cleanser like Cetaphil or Purpose, no toner, and a regular, oil-free moisturizer. Then, you can use a shine-control product. Clinique has some good ones... I forget what it's called right now...t-zone shine control or something??

If you use too many products to dry your face up, it'll have the opposite effect, nd your sebaceous (sp?) glands will work overtime to increase the sebum (oil) production... Clean n/ Clear has some cheap oil-blotting sheets that really come in handy...

HTH!
