Not sure if this is purely coincidence...

buut recently I haven't been eating meat. I'm not a vegetarian by any means, but I've just sort of stopped eating it and lost interest in it and I've noticed that my skin has been a lot better. I don't know if this maybe has something to do with all the hormones they give the animals or what, but last week I ate chicken breast and within a day or two I had a flare up of a few pimples... So I don't know if it's all a huge coincidence or what, but I just thought it was weird and thought I'd share

Well, all I know is that it takes 2-4 weeks for a pimple to appear after a pore clogs, so whenever someone says they broke out a day or two after eating a certain food, the food probably didn't cause the breakout

However, some people have allergic reactions to food that can be mistaken for acne... I think this is what happens to a lot of people who claim chocolate breaks them out!

Plus, there have not been any scientific studies to show a link between food and acne anyway! My dermatologist said that eating different foods will not affect your acne. However, if you eat greasy food then touch your face and get the grease on your face, that can break you out. So food can cause breakouts in indirect ways like that...

Interesting... I can believe it to be true. I recently read an article with Alicia Silverstone, and she said her skin got a lot better once she quit eating meat.

the most meat i eat is some chicken (has to be white meat though) and some sea food. since this aside from loosing weight (beef and pork make me sick, so i havent eaten a hamburger for over 5 years), my skin and just my body in general have been much much happier.

now since i moved to WA and have access to all the organic food i can eat, my skin problems have died significantly. if i do eat any chicken or sea food, i take free-range and/or nothing with hormones or anything.

aside, organic food tastes way way better.

I agree 100% with girl_geek. My dernatologist told me pretty much the same information. Over the past few years, my meat comsumption has decreased dramatically. To compensate, I eat a lot more fruits, vegs, whole wheat pasta and whle wheat breads.

My digestive tract is a lot healthier than ever. So it stands to reason that other parts of my body (including facial skin) are also reaping the rewards.

Hmm...I'm not giving up my meat. I don't even like chicken so I mostly eat red meat. I can't help it. I love it. I'll have to compensate in other ways I guess.

That's not always true. What about allergies?
