I read where there is now caffeine in many products for under-eye puffiness and dark circles. I'm now a firm believer of the "Aspirin Mask" after reading posts here at MUT. SO, I decided to try something on my own and do the same thing under my eyes with NoDoze. :icon_eek: I've been doing this for over a week now to see the results before posting.....after all, it's pure caffeine. IT WORKS! (moisturize afterwards) I've seen a gradual reduction in my dark circles and a big difference in any puffiness I have on certain days. I now do this every other day. Just thought I'd pass this along. I still use the pureed cucumber every week.....but this NoDoze thing is now also a new regimen for my dark circles.

1. Put 1 or 2 NoDoze pills in a small container (pill bottle).

2. Add enough water to make it disolve.

3. Stir or shake it and apply liquid to under eyes.

4. Leave on for about 10-15 minutes.

5. Put your favorite undereye mosturizer under eyes.

thanks for the info, my friend has very bad dark circles and has tried everything under the sun, I will pass this on to her.

Do you use the whole mixture each time???? Or does 1-2 pill mixture last a while??? Do I just dab it on or really lather it on??

Thanks...:icon_smil Your ideas sound like they might work too. I just thought of the NoDoze because caffeine is the ONLY ingredient. But I also mixed some pure aloe vera gel with it too just to get the soothing effects (or is that affects?:icon_redf) and that works good too. I'll give your ideas a try too......but, I'm just wondering if the acids in coffee might be harmful instead of helpful......I don't know. But the yogurt would be GREAT for soothing too. I'll give it a try.

WOW, thanks for that tip, sounds fab! How long does it last for keeping the puffness. Also, does anyone know how the caffene has this effect. What a breakthrough tip!:clap

I have used tea bags, English Breakfast , not herbal, and now I know why they work I will try the No-Doze now!

I see them at every drugstore, though I can't recall what aisle now that I'm sitting at home on the couch. :icon_redf

This seems like a neat idea! I'm going to try it too. From a skin care forum...

Reducing fluid build-up and bagginess beneath the eyes makes the face look fresher, more rested and youthful. Caffeine has its uses. We know that when consumed, caffeine can be dehydrating. It also helps reduce fluid build-up when applied topically. White tea, an antioxidant also helps shrink bags.

If unprepared for under eye bagginess and the dark circles that inevitably follow, try a quick fix straight out of the kitchen. Moist cool tea bags (the caffeinated ones) rapidly reduce swelling. The tannins in the tea help reduce the swelling by reducing inflammation. And caffeine draws water from the skin helping deflate puffiness.

Considering that caffeine will dehydrate, I'm sure it's a really good idea to use eye cream afterwards!

wow. it helps fade the circles too? that's great since I rarely get enough sleep and I know that this is the best way to avoid the puffiness in the first place.

I get mine at K-Mart back where the sleep aids are.....although the NoDoz is a NON sleep aid. In our K-Mart, it is right next to the pharmacy. But any store like K-Mart will have them....and they're cheap.

Hey! What a treat! I clicked on the link in the newsletter to get more info about a remedy for dark cirles and there's my Mamma! (Hi Mom!):icon_chee

I will definitely try the NoDoze trick (and maybe try a combination of the aspirin mask and NoDoze trick by using Excedrin - whaddya think?)

I don't know about the instant coffee idea though. Coffee has strong color and would probably stain your skin.

Well, this is my first post here and I think I'm gonna have to come here lots more often!

Talk later, girls!

Thanks. This is a good tip and certainly worth a try. Has anybody else had any luck with it yet ... I can't wait to get to Duane Reade.

But I'm also curious about the cucumber puree. Where do you get it ... or how do you make it? Are you still using that simultaneously with the No-Doze trick? I'm definitely going to try it out and will let you know the results. It can't hurt!

Hi

Sound great, but I wonder what it can do whith the eyes after a period. The skin under the eyes are so thin.

Anyone?:icon_lol:

You're welcome! First, the cucumber puree is just a plain old cucumber from your produce department. Put part of it (with the peeling ON) in your blender or smash it up in a chopper.....whatever you have. Then just put that puree under your eyes for about 10 minutes. THIS is for getting rid of those dark circles. The NoDoze (pure caffeine) is for undereye puffiness....the caffeine draws out water. Some days I'll use the NoDoze first, then the cucumber. It depend on what my eyes look like that day, but, yes, you can use them together. Remember to moisturize after using the NoDoze because it DOES draw out water to get rid of puffiness, you'll want to put some moisture back on your delicate eye area. You'll have beautiful eyes!! :icon_eek:
