Ok so should everyone be wearing some sort of cream or syrum at night? Or is it better to go completely bare faced while sleeping? I know some of you wear eye creams at bedtime but what about the rest of the face?

If your skin is normal, just use a light weight moisturizer or serum and a cream for dryer skin. I just mixed some pure aloe vera gel with some emu oil and applied it to my freshly washed face. When my skin is oily, I just use the aloe vera alone.

I have been using Philosophy Hope i na jar for a few days day and night and like it. I do not wear eye cream but always a moisturizer at night.

Yeah, I'm loving this cream. I really think that Philosophy really hit the jackpot with this. If you have great skin, then I don't think a night cream is necessary, but for those of us who need something extra, this is a good bet.

I agree with Kim on doing some sort of treatment for the skin at night, no matter what the skin type is. Of course those with dry skin will be adding moisture to the antiaging treatment, while oilier types can skip the moisture and focus on antiaging serums, retinols, etc.

I've always used something on my face at night, whether it's a cream or gel I just can't go to bed bare faced.

I have been using Olay Regenerist Syrum at night and when I wake up my face is soooo soft and everything looks so fresh. Just wasn't sure if it was clogging my pores to wear it while I was sleeping--so thanks for the responses guys!

serums in general are usually moisturizing anyways, and most would be considered moisturizers to some degree...so if your skin feels soft, and you like the results, then continue to use what works for you! the point of moisturizer is to create a barrier for your skin to keep in moisture. your skin produces it's own oils, but sometimes you need a little help. i would say if you are 25 or older, you should be putting something on your face at night. i use a chemical exfoliant (retin-a) followed by a medium weight moisturizer with antioxidants.

Yep I agree with everyone here. I believe that putting on a cream at night is just as important as putting on sunscreen during the day.

if i don't put on a night cream my skin feels parched. I can actually feel my pores tightening. But i don't like the feel of heavy creams, so i use Guerlain Serenissime- it's light and concentrated.

I dont use night creams but i would like to buy one soon and start a regime.. Can anyone recommend one for a 22 year old with combi/oily skin?

hey laura! i don't know about a night cream...but using a good moisturizer at night sounds right. if you have oily skin, you don't need a night cream.

i have been using dermalogica's skin smoothing cream for several years now...since i was your age actually...and am really happy with it. it makes yours skin super smooth, doesn't clog pores or cause acne, and has lots of antioxidants and vitamins! it was recommended for girls in their 20's as a good preventative measure in Allure magazine a year ago, and i was pretty happy because it made me feel like i was on the right track. i also use a little bit in the morning too under my sunscreen. do you have dermalogica products near you? i know they sell them at skinstore.com.
