Hair doesn't have memory unless it's been chemically (permed/relaxed) treated. From the ingredient list below the product contains silicones which will build up on your hair. That may provide a coating that you are basically cooking onto your hair each time you heat/straighten it.

I don't think I'd put all that gunk on my freshly washed hair even if they gave it to me for free. Lately, I tend to go for the natural shampoos and conditioners that don't have a lot of chemical additives.
The days of silicone and hot irons are over for me. My hair is so much more healthier now w/o coating it chemically to make it look that way.
