Alright gals... I'm going to the beach this friday and staying for a week, so I'm gonna try my hand at waxing.. because I do not want to have to shave everyday while I'm there! My hair grows back so fast. Ick. I've only tried waxing once before, and I didn't do so well.

So I was hoping you girls could give me some tips, please! TIA!

What areas are you going to wax? Are you doing it by yourself?

wash the area really well

after that part, once your legs are dry, apply some powder to the area, just a light coating, apply wax with the grain of your hair

HA! I tried this once with painful dissapointment!! I swear I followed the directions. (I bought a "kit")

so powder... like baby powder??

I heard that your hair has to be longer, or its easier...

The only advice I can give is to read the instuctions carefully! LOL I did it once and regret it. So now I just get it done professionally.

I like the Nair hot wax. It doesn't hurt much . . . but maybe I'm just used to it!

I do have sensitive legs though. I didn't even know Nair made hot wax.

I love waxing, it's so nice not having to deal with the hastle of shaving every night. Here are a few tips for you...

-Start with a sugar kit instead of a wax kit. The clean up is much easier, you can wash it off with water. Wax needs oil to clean off any residue or spills. You can get sugar kits that you can heat up so will grip to the hair easier.

-Follow the directions, like everyone else said, and make sure to test the wax before applying it to your legs. I used to know a girl who got burns on her hands because she didn't read the directions and she spilled it on her hands and had to get rushed to the hospital.

-Do it after your period if it's possible. The week before and during your period it hurts much more.

-Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate otherwise you will get nasty ingrown hairs. I learned this the hard way.
