so, this past week my face has been pretty dry, so i went out and bought myself a bottle of Cetaphil moisturizer, since its supposed to be "mild." Well, the other morning I applied it to my face and around my eyes, because they've been flakey as well, and left for school. When i was about to park, i looked into my mirror and noticed my eye-area was all red. So, i took some benadryll and went home, thinking it was some kind of allergic reaction. When i washed off my makeup, I realized my eyelids and under-eye area were a lot redder than i thought. It looked like someone sucked on my eyes. So, I tried to make an appointment with my doctor, because benadryll just wasn't working. But, we was too busy to see me. So, i ended up going to the eye doctor.. and it was an allergic reaction. So, i have to use this cream to make it go away, and it should be gone in about a week.

But now, i cant wear makeup. I can't cover it up. My eyes are still pretty red, even thought its gone down ALOT since yesterday.. I look so ugly, and I'm so depressed.

sorry, i just needed to vent. I don't care how dry my skin gets, or how flakey my eyes look, NOTHING is touching that skin again.

Oh no!

sounds like you have a very sensitive skin.

I hope it gets calmed down soon!

I feel sorry for you. Just a few weeks ago I had an allergic reaction, too. My whole face was covered in hundreds of small and itchy red spots and after that my face was very flakey ...I felt just like you and I can understand you very well.

I hope your skin will heal soon and keep yor chin up.

oh no! It's enough that you got the reaction but you can't wear makeup to cover it either! I feel for you!

I'm sorry, have a speedy recovery, I hate eye infections/allergies. May be you need to get something light specially for around the eyes.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad reaction to Cetaphil. You must have very sensitive skin. Maybe your Derm can recommend a good moisturizer for you.

yesterday, the eye doctor said since the skin around the eyes is so thin and sensitive, it's best to simply use vaseline, or something along those lines.. i KNEW i should have stuck to using vaseline on my face lol

Yeah, that's happened to me too. My skin normally isn't so sensitive, but everything from Cetaphil is just too strong for me. It will go away soon, so don't worry!

lol i feel your pain..i have an allergic reaction to somethign around my mouth and scratched it hard..and it started to BLEED! it was VERY hard to cover up for a few days.

Sorry to hear about your horrible experience. I'm sure by next week your skin should be back to normal. Its best to use those professional lines of skincare products....the ones that u only get by your facial people...yes it costs alot...but if you got sensitive skin like that then it might be worth it.

i get the flaky thing around my eyes too. although mine is from eczema. what helps me is putting vit. e oil on it.

oh that is so sad. it sucks to have bad reactions to products like that. my skin i sensetive too and i always am wondering what is going to happen when i try a new product.

does the doctor have any idea what in the product caused the allergic reaction?

xoxo
