I have dry skin so I want something that's not too drying. I have a few black heads, particularly around my lips. I don't normally get pimples - usually only around that time of the month, but sometimes one will sneak in - mostly on my chin, but sometimes on my forehead.

My usual facewash is Noxema Continuous Clean Microbead Cleanser. It has been my HG for years and I love it! I love the way it tingles my skin, the way it smells, and how it leaves my skin smooth. I love it, but I think I need something stronger. I need something that has ingredients that targets acne in it - particularly black heads.

Oh and I'm looking for a drugstore cleanser. :]

TIA!

Unfortunately, anything targeting acne is going to be drying and if you already have dry skin, that could be problematic. But you could try Neutrogena's Clean Pore Cleanser/Mask. I used it for a long time before I started using the Shiseido Pureness line (which has totally balanced my skin out beautifully if you're ever interested in something from Nordstrom, Macy's or Sephora).

Also, you could try just using an acne specialized cleanser on your chin and something less drying for the rest of your face...??

For blackheads specifically, I do the aspirin mask I found here on MUT every day, which is a gentle chemical exfoliant and it DRASTICALLY reduced my blackheads (which, for me, are primarily on my nose). I do use it on my whole face, because I don't have dry skin, but you could just use it where you break out if you find it too drying.

Good luck!

are you sure your skin is dry and not just dehydrated? blackheads and acne are usually associated with oily skin. maybe a hydrating or pore refining mask would help more that a stronger cleanser. a stronger cleanser would probably make your skin even dryer. jmho~

i agree with monniej, any acne treatment can be drying. one i was using in the past and particularly liked is the 2 in 1 cleanser+mask from Neutrogena Visibly Clear.
