My skin type is usually normal but sometimes a bit dry around the nose and mouth during the winter. So far, i have not been using any moisturizers for day time before i apply foundation or for night time before i sleep. I don't usually have any problems with my face in terms of break outs, acne, redness, etc. but i find that i don't have any glow to my skin. No matter what foundation, blush i use, i still end up looking tired, dead, dull in a few hours. SOOO, I want to start using a moisturizer daily for night time and day time to see if that would bring a change but i'm not sure which ones are the best out there. Please state your opinions about which ones you would recommend.

I've been using Boots botanicals (Under $10 for a pretty big tube) from Target. It has a time release formula and keeps my combination skin moisturized in Minnesota Winter. Somedays I use a tinted moisturizer over the top of that.

I "swear by" Oil of Olay Total effects, fragrance free.

Under that, I use Regenerist Serum.

Over the Olay Total effects, I use Monistat anti-chafing lotion as a makeup primer.

I have used Olay Total Effects for YEARS and I can't praise it enough!

Looking forward to hearing others' choices.

Warmly,

beaglette

Please do not use the biggest font there is. It's just as irritating as a teeny-tiny font! Mind you of the Forum Netiquette. Thanks!

Estee Lauder has a new one called Hydra Brite:

"See skin glow with a fresh, flawless radiance...

Skin is guaranteed to glow with a beautiful, healthy vitality."

They have different formulas of this for normal/combination/oily/sensitive skins

and also a formula with spf, and one without

Hope this helps!!

I've been using Dior HydrAction Deep Hydration Sorbet Creme this winter and i am totally in love with it. SEPHORA- ALWAYS CARRY THIS!!!

This may be my favorite of them all, even more than Capture Totale

I am wearing Dior Capture Totale Multi-Perfection Correction Serum under, but this is a bit pricey, so i am probably going to cheapening up to HydrAction Deep Hydration Radical Serum since i have no job and my husband has no idea how much i spend on skincare.

I am thinking of trying Loreal's new skin Genesis products- the package is beautiful for a drugstore skincare line.

Was this to me? Because on my screen, the font size in my post is the same as the one above me and the ones below me.

P.S. I just checked my settings for font size and it is set to "forum default". Is that too big? If so, maybe the forum should change the default size to something smaller? TIA

I love the Clinique Continuous Rescue antioxidant moisturizer. You could try the one for dry to combination skin for nighttime. I use the very dry to dry, and it's still pretty lightweight/non-greasy, but does a great job moisturizing. I also use REN Omega-3 nighttime oil on my face morning and night, only on the super-dry areas (my cheeks) because I can get painfully dry if I don't use something. Because I'm so dry, it doesn't make me at all greasy.

Cetaphil face lotion is great and gentle. They also have it in a thicker cream if you have really dry skin.

I use Elizabeths Arden 24 Hour Perpetual Moisture Cream, been using this for about 2 years and I use it all year round at night, and sometime in the morning before makeup if my skin feels dry.

I have combo skin, with some very dry areas. This cream works perfect for me, it says it is for dry skin. It has never made me break out and it keeps my skin smooth soft moisturized and glowy all day

Hope this helped.

I really like Dove's Energy Glow. It gives a lovely, subtle shimmer. When I wear it people tell me I'm glowing. I'd have to say it's my HG moisturiser, and it's so cheap!

Moisturizer will definitely help to liven your skin up and you won't feel like you look so flat a few hrs into the day!

Since you aren't terribly oily but you do tend to be dry I would suggest MAC Studio Moisture Creme, I love it myself!! It moisturizes well without feeling gross on the skin, and it works excellent under makeup.

*Dermalogica Active Moist or Skin Smoothing Cream

*Olay Total Effects for normal skin

Don't forget to use a sunscreen during the day

The above mentioned moistursiers are excellent for night time use.
