I need some advice. I want to buy a new expensive flat iron that makes my hair super shiny and super flat, but the thing is that i don't know which one. I had bought one from sally's at $100.00 but it just does not make my hair shiny at all or super flat, like other girls here from work, they use the chi and its awesome "for them" dont' know if mine would look the same, also sometimes i manage to make my hair look good and then i go outside and its ruined!!!. What can i do or buy to solve my problem, everytime i flat iron my hair it does not look near as flat or shiny as my co-workers, maybe cause we have different type of hair? don't know. Please help!

P.S. i believe i have coarse hair.

GHD has really good straighteners, they use them in salons. what type of hair do you have? if its very thick and wavy/curly you will have to use some straightening serum first to make the hair straight. my fave is from nicky clarke, cost just £6.

sorry baby, I love my curls so can be no help to you at all. I have heard good things about the chi irons...

Oh, welcome to MUT! I'm karrie from Washignton State. I hope you love it here as much as I do!

yea i have thick wavy more curlier hair. I saw on folica best rated and chi is like #10, but i have heard wonders on it. and sedu is number 1, but never heard of that one. What do you all think? chi or sedu?

o.k. so i just decided to buy myself a chi, i ordered it last night. Hopefully, it'll do the job. I got the free shipping so hopefully it'll be here next week.

if that iron doesnt work on its own...I would try using sometype of moisturizer or something after you straighten. I just started using john freida's brilliant brunette finishing cream, and it really makes my hair nice and shiny looking without looking oily....

Brilliant Brunette products help bring out the natural tones in brunette hair. It doesn't add color. :icon_wink

Yay! I got my chi iron yesterday and i tried it this morning, and my hair looks BEAUTIFUL!!!! YAY!!!! CHI ROCKS!!!!!!

Yea thats the only thing i didn't use was the heat protectant, but everyone loved my hair at work and at college. I'll do a search on heat protectants, i'll be going to sally's soon.

Chi is my #1 Chi also has a new spray out that protects the hair along with making is shinny, for get the name of the Chi product but it comes in a red spray bottle if that helps.
