Hi,

I'm new to posting to the boards, but have been lurking for a while. I have been on the search for my 'signature' scent for some time now. I like VS Dream Angels Heavenly, which is my everyday scent for office etc. Hubby is neutral on it. I also like Shiseido Energizing, D&G light blue (again, hubby is neutral on these), and have just recently fallen for Narciso Rodriguez for Her EDT. Hubby doesn't like NR at all....says it has a BO undertone.

He really loves Chanel Allure Sensuelle, but I think it's just too heavy on me and to me has a wierd quality that I just don't care for.

Any suggestions on a scent to try next that might be a happy medium? I'd really like to find one we both love.....I've worn his favorite on a few occasions, but it almost gives me a migraine....ugh!

Great to be here by the way!

Looking forward to your suggestions......

First of all, welcome to MakeupTalk!

My suggestion, (and I don't mean to sound rough) wear what you like, not what your hubby likes. It's you who's wearing and smelling the fragrance for the entire day.

My bf and I have the exact opposite tastes in fragrances. I love heavy oriental scents, while he prefers fresh ones (watery, as I call them). We just agree to disagree

And there's no way I'd be wearing something that would give me a headache. IMO it's just not worth it.

Thanks! I tend to agree with that too...the Allure Sensuelle hasn't been worn in a long time, but I just thought I'd give it a try for his benefit. I cannot wear scents that I don't like....I've tried some scents in the department store and ended up in the ladies room scrubbing like a mad woman....of course, those are always the scents with the most staying power ;o)

Hi & welcome to MuT! I'm Aquilah from NY

I'm so bad that I generally pick a scent John likes, but that's because he's picking from what I've already decided I like! My HG scent is Burberry Tender Touch, which is a very light and floral fragrance IMHO. We both prefer it hands down to anything else I've ever worn! I suggest lining up fragrances you most definitely like, and then have your hubby pick from those. That's how I worked it at least

fragrances are a very personal thing. whats a great scent for one person is a horrible scent for another. there are soooo many to choose from it isn't funny.

i would get samples from different cosmetic counters at the department stores and try them out
