I want to start doing chemical peels, but I'm scared! I don't know where to start. For those of you that get them from makeupartistschoice.com, did you start with the lactic acid peels or the glycolic acid peels? I don't have sensitive skin, but I do have somewhat oily/acne prone skin. Would it be ok to start with the 30%, if I have never used a peel before? I really want to start using them, I've heard great success stories! But I've also heard horrid stories about people literally burning their faces off!

Also, any advice on what I should do before or after peels? Is it ok to wear foundation afterwards? Thanks!

yes, glycolic 30% is perfectly safe, leave on 5 min, you can wear founation next day. you may get sone minor flaking, but nothing major, just looks like you have dry skin

Dont be scared, it's no big deal. Start with a Lactic, 40% is fine, just to get the feel of it then since you don't have sensitive skin you can likely go to the glycolic. I use 30% glycolic and I started right out with it, no problems. The first time you use the peel only leave it on for 2 minutes or less, then build the time. Be sure to use sunscreen afterwards, and stay away from any other treatments/serums (except for moisturizer and SPF) for that session...ie if you peel am, don't use the other stuff until at least PM, if not the next day.

It feels really itchy/tingly but it shouldn't burn...if it does, wash it off right away!

i bought 30% GA peel at ebay and yesterday was my 2nd week to use it. It's safe just follow the instructions...i also experience having my foreheard burned but it was my mistake coz i put it in my wound that i thought was already healed, but now the burned part is doing fine and just leave a mild scar but the rest of my face is starting to become flakey..and i see that my face is becoming soft and smoother. I guess i have to do the 6 week session and see the final result. Just don't put it if you have open wounds.

Oh ok! Well I guess I will start out then with the 30% ga and see how that goes. I have a few more questions though..lol.

1. How many weeks do I do the peels? I plan on doing them 1x a week. And micro 1x or 2x a week. But when do I stop or take a break?

2. About doing other treatments, can I use my regular face acne stuff and spot treatments?
