Recently I started doing the Oil Cleansing Method using Castor Oil and Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and moisturising with Jojoba Oil afterwards. However the main reason I am doing this – to reduce the wrinkles and dark circles under my eyes (yes I have tried all the sleep, water, other recommendations etc in the world) – has not changed at all.

There are SO many oils to choose from – those 3, Vitamin E, Almond, Emu… the list never ends! How do you pick one? Surely I am not the only one who doesn’t have the patience OR money to try them all out!??

You have to pick them for the cleansing ability and the ones that come off easily. I use jojoba oil and castor in a 70/30 ratio to clean. Almond/jojoba/evening primrose mix makes for a good moisturizer. You use olive oil for food prep, it makes a good salad dressing so you aren't really buying it for just skincare.

My suggestion is to google the oils, see what they are good for. Find a good supplier, maybe one that has sample sizes so you can try. Almond oil is available in grocery stores. Some oils are available as capsule form. You can buy evening primrose that way, break a few capsules. This is how I get coenzyme q10. Good luck with your choice, thats the fun part.

Oil cleansing will not help wrinkles. It only helps to improve skin tone, acne, blackheads, whiteheads and that sort of thing. Oil cleansing does not allow the oil to stay in the skin to work, so there is no way it can a lot with wrinkles.

Jojoba oil will not help wrinkles either. It's only a good moisturizer. What really helped my wrinkles is Silkia camelia oil along with EpidermxII microdermabrasion pro-treatment. And it's not just my wrinkles that got the benefits, but indented acne scars, plus overall skin tone and clarity improvement. This duo has totally saved my skin.

For wrinkles camellia oil is good, as well as argan oil.

jojoba is a basic oil for blends (in aromatherapy), and a good moisturizer.

Olive oil is pretty much universal in your kitchen, so it's a good investment.

Sweet almond oil is my favorite because it's soothing and it has a nice scent. It's available in your supermarket, in mine i usually find it in the baby's section (you can use it on children as well).

I agree some oils are available in capsule form (food supplements). Evening primerose is interesting as it improves your hair, skin and nails condition (although it does take some to show). You can combine it with borrachio oil, which is very moisturising.

I do read and buy a few samples

Try to identify what you'd like to improve on your skin, then look around some oils that would suit, get samples if possible.
